How many bots can I run?

How much bots can I run? What should I bot to maximize profit in anyway, this being f2p.

Laptop Specs:

i7 Quad Core 1.6Ghz 'can turboboost to 2.8ghz'
6GB Ram
1GB Graphics Card.

 

Probably about two, honestly.

And maxing profit...erm..combat? f2p is poop broski.

Cause I can run black ops + 1 bot fine, and Bo takes about 500,000 kb of ram or so.

I got one members account, but I'm tryna make it a pure str + skiller.

 

Well then if you think more than 2, try it . All about trial and error really. But Yeah i think you could run maybe 2 or 3. Could be wrong.

 

I would say 4 or 5 bots. You have a processor with a low clock speed, but being a quad core, it kind of makes up for it. Usually the number of bots depends on how much RAM you have. But in your case, you have to consider that the proc is only 1.6 ghz. You can probably overclock it a little bit higher than the turboboost if you have good cooling.

 

I can see you running 5-6 bots or so fine if not multi tasking. i7 is honestly a great cpu but it's a laptop your main enemy is cooling/heating. Im assuming ddr3.
Honestly though just use trial and error since you own the machine but my guess is 5-6 running pretty high in cpu power.

 

Well, I don't know how to tell from reading specs, but I'll give you mine/how many bots I can run:

3GB RAM
256MB integrated video card
2.1GHz Dual-core processor

I can run 4 bots with that, maybe 5. I run 4 usually, but I can play one RS client beside that. It helps to run multiple clients with a few bots in each, then you can assign the bots to different cores.

I'll explain how to do it in a sec, lemme find my other post.

If you have a processor with multiple cores (dual-core, quad-core, etc.) then you should open multiple clients and assign them to different cores.

To do that:


1. Open task manager (ctrl + shift + esc)

2. Click the 'Processes' tab

3. Find the bots in the processes list (either *********, Javaw.exe, or something about Nexus, not 100% sure as I've never used Nexus)

4. Right click one of those processes, click set affinity, and make sure you either have core 0 or core 1 checked (for dual-core processors. for quad-core there should also be core 2 and core 3) then press ok.

5. Repeat the fourth step for the other client, instead checking the other core and pressing ok.


Basically what this does is allows your processor to spread the CPU load out more by splitting the task into two parts.

 

Over 8. Each bot takes up 400-500MB of ram. This is assuming your CPU is turbo boosted.

 

Well my computer doesn't turbo boost automatically. It just does it when there's a high load. Anyone know if I can manually turbo boost.

 

No more than 7 bots, as well beside your computer processes Jagex does start to find out your secret if they detect multiple account on your computer at the same time

 

I did what you did. Currently it says I got 9 cores 0-8. Is that cause of hyperthreading acts as a virtual core?

 

I can run up to 10 on 5GB of RAM, plus do whatever I want and only be around 70% CPU. Using Nexus client.

 

10 eh? That seems pretty substantial.

Nexus Client? Never heard of it. I use RSBUDDY only. Seems like the best option for me.

 

My computer has 4 GigaBytes of ram and i can run 4 bots without lag, i could probably do 8 if i was desperate

Aand you could probably do 12, but that would be crazy, i'd do six on your computer

I'm on I7, 4gb Ram, 1gb Graphic card and 2.66 GHZ Laptop.

Like you, I can run a big game ( Black ops, Battlefield BC 2, Battlefield 2 ) and run 2 BOT with no problem.

It depends on what Bot you're using, The bot I'm using has a feature called "Use less CPU", When I activate that on all bots, I can run roughly 11 bots.

Without it, I can run 9 MAX before Blue screen of death or extreme lag.

 

Hmm, I got that option too, rsbuddy? Ill give some screenshots and tell me how much bots i can run for about 5 hours per day w/ or w/o multitasking.

I ran 11 Bots on my laptop for 24 hours, Flawless, no error, I had a laptop cooling fan too so it wasn't overheating or anything.

But recently the fan isn't enough to cool my laptop anymore so I'm avoiding botting overnight just for my laptop's lifespan sake.

About the RAM, It's normal, don't worry! Infact, That's a good thing because you would need more ram to run more bots rather than CPU.

I ran 9 Bots and my Firefox, My Firefox takes up 40% CPU ( no idea why ) while the 9 bots takes up only 50% or so.

Edit : In a few minutes time I'll be back to botting full on so I'll take a screenie for you.

 

I recently started a leveling service that's why I was wondering how much bots I could run. Ive been running about 4 bots + firefox + iTunes + word documents, and it's been running fine. To ensure I don't damage my laptop should I buy a external fan?

Approx how do these external fans cost?

 

Just google how much they cost around your area or from an online store. Not very hard...
