    Sythe Lottery

I remember someone running a Sythe lottery, but I think there needs to be another one. So many people would be interested in it.

My idea is you can pay 1m, and pick a number between 1 - 100, and there's a list of who has what numbers. You can also buy more than one number. Then when the deadline to sign up is over, whoever is running it goes on Runescape, and other people can come watch and join his/her clan chat, and they roll the "percentile die". It randomly generates a number between 1 - 100.

If there's a fairer way to do it, then it can obviously be changed.

Then maybe the winner wins half of the total jackpot, and the rest is sold, and the money is given to Sythe?

I like this idea, we could still use the random number generator from previous lotteries. I'd participate.

I like the idea of a lottery, but I'm not sure if it would be approved.

I'd like to say I'm somewhat familiar with statistics and would be willing to host it, if the admin team approves of hosting a lottery. Basically, each entrant will be assigned a number, and I'd have a camtasia of a random number generator to see who wins.

Also, 1m is nothing. OMM applications value 1m at $.50 and Nate's official GP store values it at $.70. I say the entry amount if 5m per ticket, at the minimum. Additionally, there is no reason to cap it at 100 entries. The first entrant is number 1. The second is number 2. The third is number 3. Etc.

It's just everyone paying is the issue and being online to pay for your ticket.

If availability is an issue, I can work out a mule system where someone PMs me that they want to enter but can't get a hold of me. I'd send them a mule; they'd load it with GP. The same can be done for the winner.

I have about 20 blank level 3 accounts at my disposal, and I can make more at any moment.

I like this too, I think you should speak to an Administrator about this, then they could spread the word by making announcements, and it could be a number from 1 -> 1,000. Imagine how much the Administrator would receive in RSGP if its for 1M each to submit a number, that way 50% of the RSGP goes to the winner and the other 50% to Sythe. Great idea, I'm with you on this one...:)

Definitely be fun to do. I'd participate with a few numbers. I think the 100 should be lifted though. :p

Also, should set what the number is going to be beforehand then rest go to Sythe. This way it's very likely Sythe will gain more out of it. :D Obviously not set it too high, but I'm sure many will participate if the thread gets the views that it should.

i believe this would be great as well. seeing as i would want to buy 100 numbers myself i think we need a much larger number.

i dont see an reason sythe wouldnt agree to something like this. if it cant be an official thing im sure someone will do it anyways.

Oh, and just for the record, if it needs a host, I'm available. That, or Kero seems pretty into this, maybe he would like to host it.

I'm not sure if I'd be trusted enough to hold the money, though.

If I have permission, I'd love to do a trial run of this. Maybe 3m per ticket or so, and for the first one we'll just have 100 slots. If it's popular enough, then next time we can add more.

I'd also be willing to have someone else hold the money if you want me to host, unless I'm deemed trustworthy enough to hold it.

Hmmm, I tried to get one going awhile back, even had a graphics that I designed in my siggy without a link for awhile and the post written up but after repeated attempts to contact ADMINS to get it approved I was finally told to pretty much give up. I know Tyro used to run the old lottery but he had complications from paypal for having so many small payments and then sending out one big one to one of the senders of a small payment (i.e. paypal isn't stupid and knew he was running some sort of lottery, which is against their terms of service and the law, no raffles online).

NOW, I didn't think that after free trade rsgp could be used to bypass the paypal element all together, I would love to hear more about this. If I couldn't host one participating would be fun as well. It's fun to do and everyone loves a cheap shot at a bunch of gold, I approve, LOL.

Also, winner could choose rsgp or paypal at lower rate or w/e.
