Could someone check my grammer on the speech i wrote?

Hello, for my English class i have to write a speech about a movie and the american educational system, and as this grade is very important to me, could one of you please check it for grammar mistakes? thanks a lot in advance. And if any of the information is incorrect could you please points it out, or if some words can be replaced by a word more formal?

    12 angry man

12 angry man is an excellent courtroom drama with a very unique twist. Instead like most courtroom drama’s, the viewer gets to observe the events behind the closed doors of a jury room. The film begins and ends with the trial. About 95% of the movie takes place in just 1 room. A young man is accused of killing his father and now the jury has to decide whichever he is guilty or not. A preliminary vote is taken and the result is 11 to 1 in favor of the guilty verdict. 11 jurors have raised their hand convict the young man but only juror number 8 has doubts. At first juror 8 didn’t truly believe the young man was guilty, but since the boy is to be executed if found guilty, his life is in the hands of the jury and juror 8 reasons that the least they could do is talk about the case a bit. At first, everyone was confident that the young man was guilty, but as time goes on some jurors change their mind as there is enough reasonable doubt. But not everyone is easy to convince as other factors such as emotions start playing a roll. Although the plot of this film is excellent in my opinion and it is fascinating to see what little things can influence which way the verdict goes, where this movie really succeeds is in presenting the characters of the 12 jurors. The character of the jurors emerges through a wonderful mix of perfect casting, dialogue and flawless acting. The film captivated me from the beginning. Even though this film is more than 60 years old and takes place in only 1 room, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Only downside is that if this kind of jury meetings happen in the real world, it would be illegal since jurors can’t conduct private investigations like the once happened during the film or bring up the defendant’s past.
    American educational system:
Education in the united states knows the same 3 layer structure as here in Europe, primary, secondary and higher education. But there are still a lot of differences. Primary education consists of kindergarten and elementary school. Kids start kindergarten when there 5 years old. When there eleven, they move to elementary school, this is where they start learn how to read and write. Elementary school has 5 different grades and you are 11 years old when you leave. Secondary education is called high school, and this is split in junior high and senior high. There isn’t a lot of differentiation as we have in Europe, and the quality is strongly depended on its location. This because its mainly the school district that supplies the financial support. Higher education consists of college. This works in almost the same way our higher education system in the Netherlands. But the big difference is in the quality’s of universities. There are state universities that are funded by the state and this is the cheapest option to continue education. On the other side there are a lot of private universities. These are often very prestigious and are of better quality then state universities. A perfect example for a prestigious private university is the Harvard university. Harvard knows very admissions, tuiton fee and it’s very likely you’ll receive an excellent job once graduated. Harvard knows to win a lot of scientists to become professors, as well as nobel prize winners. Having your kids go to college is one of the biggest financial worries and can lead to large debts. School ratings in the us don’t use digits but in letters, which range from A to F, A being the highest and F the worst.
