"Report a Scammer" automated system

i am 100% support this suggestion, this would be a great invention

 

We can easily see any deleted post, unless it was hard-deleted, which only admins can do.

As far as issuing infractions, it is in the rules that we will infract for improper reports. However, that's like kicking someone while they are down. 80-99% of all the improper reports are still legitimate scams, and they still feel angry and hurt by getting their money stolen.

 

100% support, i didnt get a sale today coz someone bashed in to my thread and posted random chat logs and pics of him getting scammed by some guy

 

Definite support, makes everything so much more efficient and people will actually know what proof to includ!

This is basically why I won't ever give out infractions unless it's clear they posted with no proof whatsoever.

Well, I more along the lines of the person trying to report the scammer's post, but it being gone.

I understand what you mean by infractions, but even if someone got scammed, they're still actively breaking the rules and wasting staff time, wouldn't you agree?

This is a pretty neat suggestion. As stated above by Farcast, this would save time for both the member reporting the scam and the staff member dealing with the scam. I don't often report scammers, vaders, etc. Most of the time I report spammer because it's quite simple. However, if this idea is implemented I might take out more time to find vaders and whatnot. :3 You have my support.

I know it is hard to code, but like blupig said, its good for the long run/safer.

 

I agree that they are breaking the rules; however, they aren't doing so to be difficult in 99% of cases. They got scammed and are mad about it, and are being hasty in their anger. We're allowed to be lenient in issuing infractions and stuff. If a person makes bad report after bad report after bad report, I'll be infracting them for it.

If you feel like it's no big deal, then by no means, don't let me tell you how to do your job. I just assumed the staff got irritated everytime a scam report came in with insufficient evidence, but that doesn't appear to be the case .

 

I support this and would be willing to put some coding effort into it if Matthew doesn't wish to do so. It's really not a difficult thing to code, as it would just be a form and a check.

Do note that even an automated system won't prevent poor quality submissions. Yes, it would allow for the thread to be organized in a much better sense, but you would still have reports that aren't complete. This is unavoidable.

- Form for submission (multiple input fields and text fields)
- Require at least one image in each thread, check this field to ensure it is an image of some sort.
- Organize data into a template. Post data.

I'd say... 2 hours of coding max. 1 hour of integration. and good to go.

With a form , it'l make the mod's job a whole lot easier...
