Not a fan of people who do it. Majority of the time it's people who decide to take out their own insecurities on others, or are trying to join the crowd. I despise people like that and I refuse to ever become one.
If I see it happening, I always stick up for the person, or give the other individual a simple "fuck off."

In order to stop it, - or at least the majority of the time - all you have to do is stick up for yourself; or the other person.

It's part of life. Bullies have always existed and will always exist. The only difference between what is happening now and what happened in the past is the level of attention that the issue is given.

The problem are not the bullies but the people being bullied who don't know how to deal with a bully. A simple conversation with the bullies parents/teacher/counselor can end the problem quickly.

people are always going to want to put others down to make themselves feel better.
@the video though.. it's really stupid to try and bully someone who's like 4x your size...

Bullies are just kids who get beat at home or abused, who take it out on kids to make other people laugh, and make themselves feel good.

Bullies are usually driven by their own insecurities.
    It is, of course, wrong.

I was only ever bullied once through school. I have a short temper for dumb asses, so he ended up getting a beating. Through my high school years there was this mentally handicapped kid who was always being trash talked by some big jock. He finally decided to land a punch on him one day and I happened to see it. He also got his just deserts.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, my way of dealing with bullies is giving them what they deserve.

I don't really have a problem of getting bullied at my school since I'm pretty much friends with my whole class but there are several people who just constantly bully several people in my class. I have wanted to stand up for them but I'm not incredibly strong so I normally just push it aside. I'm very against it though. I don't know I wish I could do more to stop it.

Putting it straight, bullies are people who have lots of insecurities. They dont see people as a human with feelings, merely just a "target" or "victim" in which they satisfy themselves by picking on them. Its pathetic and ridiculous, and in my view they are satisfied, yet empty. Most have no future and have chosen the wrong path of life, and like tonitmeister said, it isn't hard to stand your ground against a bully. When you retaliate, you can see the fear glowing in their eyes when they get a big mental slap on the face (and probably a further punch) making them realize what they've done. Everything comes crumbling down on them when it dawns on them what shit they got themselves in :p

I'd have to go with this, I've seen people getting bullied but I never do anything. I remember back in Freshmen year of HS, I had long hair and suoer skinny jeans and some wannabe gangsters would tease me, the year after that he got tripped by some gangster and got his ass kicked. He then called his 20+ year old brothers to the high school but the school cop found them first. It was pretty funny, bully getting bullied/ass kicked/bleeding everywhere = pricess.
Plus NO ONE liked that kid as he always ratted out kids when he got in fights.

Anyways back on topic, it's a pretty bad thing as I've read about stories where kids who get bullied either commit suicide or go back to school with a gun and shoot up the kids who bullied them. If you do it to others, you might want to think about stopping.

There will always be problems with bullies, whenever there is a weak individuals bullies will always be there.

My problem with this issue is this:

If the person getting bullied doesn't tell anyone, doesn't it imply some form of consent?

If you break your leg, you'll call an ambulance because you want it friggen fixed.
If your light bulb blows, you probably won't call an electrician as you can do it later and fix it yourself.
If you get bullied and don't tell anyone then... How is it any different from the above?

Trying to stop bullying from occurring is for the most part futile.
What the schools need to do is stop it from the first offence. If someone gets bullied, you tell the teacher, tell your parents, tell the cops if necessary. All preach something will be done. Parents complain to the school, the school will punish the bullies. If you complain to the cops well, I doubt the bullies would touch you again.

Honestly I think if your a person that gets bullied, and you don't tell anyone, or stand up for yourself then your a worthless POS. Unless of course you like it.

I don't see it happen much at my school, it isn't like nerds being pushed against lockers by jocks like a lot of shows/movies portray it.

Sometimes people feel that if they told somebody it might escalate. Most of the times I've told teachers about being bullied it has gotten worse.
