I have even more respect for mods now.

I finally took a look at the Report a Scammer forum, and was amazed at the rate which new topics are made. Somehow, the small amount of Sythe staff are able to deal with all of these reports in a timely manner, plus they go through the spam reports as well. All this, and you never hear any of them complaining about the work they have to do (which is obviously volunteered, none of them are being compensated for their time, ridding Sythe of scum is the only reward they get).

Thank you guys, for all the work you do behind the scenes, that most of us take for granted.

Truthfully, yeah. They get to the reports very damn fast. I'm sure they can say,"Done, thanks", faster than anything else. ;P

Jk We do have a lot to do though, between Scam/Spam reports, Being bombarded on MSN (I know I get it at least) By people having questions, constant PM's, changing thread titles, that's just the start. It's fairly rewarding though, as long as we can keep the scum off the site it's worth it.

I can't even being to imagine how annoying getting on MSN might be if you're a mod, my God.

That he is, a large majority of the posts I report seem to be handled by him, and very promptly as well (And I report ALOT of posts too, so I would know).

Speaking of spam, this idiot needs to be banned - http://sythe.org/member.php?u=291329. Posting keyloggers, not sure how many of his posts are in the Market, but I know every single post of his is linking to a download. I reported them all, but I dunno if it got thrown in the bottom of the pile though.

Your respect for mods shouldn't stem from spam reports. After all, they're typically garnered for mod logs.

 

Hehe brings back memories of the 100+ emails i would get a day relating to spam and scams... Lets just say that after dealing with af ew hundred a day i would get kinda sick of it and a bit trigger happy with your infractions xD

 

Respect for Gohan, he's amazing at what he does, same with Nate. Our current staff is pretty damn amazing, couldn't imagine it to be any better.

 

No, my respect for them comes from the amount of work they do to keep this site clean, with nothing gained personally. This work mostly goes unappreciated by the general public, yet you never hear any mods asking for thanks or complaining. That, in my book, earns my respect.

They don't ask for thanks or complain because they accepted the offer to moderate here. They can resign at any given time if they're tired of it.

Staff do benefit from their position. Have you ever seen a staff member with a business that wasn't booming?

 

I also agree that they are quite amazing with the amount of work that they do.

 

Just because they accepted the offer doesn't mean that they'd like to be appreciated, or that it would be nice to thank them for the hard work they do.

Granted, you have a point with the staff member that has a booming business, but I believe that's mostly because of trust, which a non-staff user can gain as well.
