So what's your favorite (portable) Pokémon Game?

Emerald for sure. Revolutionized it!

 

Yellow for sure, on that hand held Nintendo ds or something i don't remember the name of it game boy maybe.

I enjoyed the G/S/C series the most. Though I really don't have a strong preference.
I've played most of the games, up to 5th gen.

I agree and disagree with you.

I have many friends that love silver, but dislike gold. At first I was going to do what you have said, but then I remembered there are distinct differences between the games

 

Red, Blue, and Yellow have always been my favorite, but Yellow has my heart I love pikachu!

 

Most definatley will have to be Blue version, so many nostalgic moments when I think back to all the good times. None of them have really been bad though.

 

Interesting how no one picks the newer games -

I found them interesting based on the fact that they are story-based now, even though they are predictable and vague, they are stories, not a series of events connected by faulty chain of challenges.

Dont know why, but I still think crystal is the best. The franchise has me brainwashed

 

Yeah the story is good, I just like the old ones, due to my first game ever was pokemon blue. A lot of nostalgia, plus it isn't like the new ones aren't good, they are.

I've been playing Pokemon for 15 years, and I'm turning 18 this year. So basically been playing my whole life. Pokemon Black/White and D/P/PT are the most enjoyable Pokemon games in the franchise, and there is no doubt about it. Though, your memories are stuck into the older games.

 

Red/blue were my first, never really got into the next gen games.

 

Gold. Man, I miss playing these games, I should play them again.

 

Red because its the first one I owned. My brother got blue and I got red. D:

 

While I got the most done in Diamond/Platinum, I liked the concepts of yellow the most. I loved how my pikachu followed me haha. However, I must say that SoulSilver is my favorite (my brother would kill me for not saying red/blue/yellow).

The reason being: the pokewalker. That thing was just so cool and an awesome addition to the game. I wasn't even going to buy the darn game if it weren't for the pokewalker. Plus, your pokemon could follow you...

Pokemon emerald. I just loved the battle frontier. Pokemon crystal is a close second.

Red & Blue & Yellow were great too; my friends and I managed to get all 150 pokemon on them together.

 

That's my near exact thoughts, tbh. Crystal comes in close, but Emerald is by far my favorite. Something about Hoenn in general had this...sparkle. I think one of the main reasons I loved the area is because of how expansive both the land and sea areas were, along with the 'nature' feel of it(one city consisting of tree houses, one being inside an empty volcano crater and only being accessible by diving, etc).

Yep, I'm obsessed with the 3rd gen.
