Need someone to do me a favour...

I need someone or a few people to send in a recovery appeal for one of my accounts that is being breached and I need to get it locked so the hacker can't access it or the bank - as I'm going away and can't recover it when I'm gone.

Post here and I'll PM the name but remember I WANT you to get the details wrong (s it becomes locked) so I won't tell you any of them of course, and to prove I am the owner I can meet you in-game.

wait you can meet us ingame with your account but its hacked? this dosen't make sense just change your password?

 

No, I have access to the account now but my computer has a java-drive by I think or it is keylogged but my anti-virus' can't find anything. One of my other accounts has been cleaned completely and I'm going away climbing for a few days and will have no access to internet so if he does get ahold of my password he could delete my PIN and GF my bank...Therefore if it gets locked he won't be able to unlock it and the recoverys take several days to appeal.

 

when are you leaving? if you got 2-4 hours just reboot your computer completely save what you want before and then change the password...or simply go to an internet cafe and change the password

 

go to a friends house and change the pass bro, or use your phone to change pass, but make sure ur not using wifi

 

yeah honestly cause locking your account will just be a pain in the ass

 

I wouldn't have appeals sent in. Just in case something happens and Jagex decides to be douche's and won't unlock it or something.

Honestly, if I were in your situation I would ask a HIGHLY trusted mod/admin to change the password for you. I say this because you say you are keylogged so if you change the password yourself it can still get hacked.

Or go anywhere else where a computer with internet access is located and do it =P

Not sure if this works, but can you change the password on an iPhone/iPod Touch? If so, do that.

but somehow whenever I change my password from a different computer, it still gets changed (this is on my cleaned account) and I can't get to an internet cafe there aren't any where I live which is my problem. Also I'm leaving fairly soonish (not sure exactly) so I just figured because I can't get to a friends house, an internet cafe and change all my shit I thought getting it locked till I get back would work :S

No matter what I can get my account unlocked, recovery appeals take 15 minutes to get recovery questions off. Thats how much shit I know about the account I would go somewhere else and do it but I can't get there before I leave :S

I might try it on my brothers Ipod touch and connect to someone elses wifi...

 

Trust me, locking your account will only come back and bite you in the ass later.

ok best thing to do for your computers sake is:

1.) If this hasn't been going on for to long, just do a system recovery.

2.) Download a program called malwarebytes. It is a great program for finding this type of shit. It is free. You might be best off unplugging the internet after your computer is successfully download,installed, and updated malwarbytes. Get it off like malwarebytes.org or cnet.com. Others have been keylogged ive hear. Those are the offical versions.

 

1. Write a program in AHK (should take you about 15 minutes to figure out how to do) that will type in a new password for you)

2. Copy and paste letters into the code when making the password so they will not be able to see it

3. Delete the program when done

4. Enjoy your trip

5. Clean your computer when you get back

 

It records all keystrokes, including copy and paste, and individual letters, along with the applications you type them in.

 

Moving around shit in the code with lot of copy and paste could obfuscate it so much it would be virtually impossible to decipher.
Could also remap your keys first to make it even tougher (depending where the hook is)

Or download a free program that stops keyloggers (not sure if I'm allowed to say name here, pm me)

 

or just pay to have an OMM do it for you

 

I am downloading malware bytes, copying all my information onto a USB and going to shut down when I leave, hopefully my account gets locked and there aren't any issues but thanks everyone for the advice.

If anyone can be bothered sending in appeal that would be good too.

It won't get locked untill a LOT of recoveries.


Your BEST bet is to get someone here to change the password. As long as you have a bank pin there's nothing they can really do. If your computer is infected locking the account will do nothing..
