Acquire house address via IP Address?

as many of you may already know, last night 3 of my accounts were hacked simultaneously for a total of 200m, and they felt the need to drop my chaotic rapier/void/fire cape/overloads just to be even bigger arseholes.

managed to acquire the guys ip address via his hostname address, and so far found out hes on virgin media, and lives in the same town as me, so hes VERY close to me.

any methods or ideas to how i can get more of a specific location? going to pay the guy AND his parents a visit, really picked the wrong guy to fuck with tbh.

I'm not really sure if you can or cannot get his exact location from his IP, but man, you said only your friends knew your passwords right? And this guy is in the same town? Seems kinda weird. Anyway gl finding this bastard, I feel you man.

Unless you call the ISP and get them to trace it.

Your best bet is to report it to the police.

 

It is possible if you have a legit reason I think you can probably just ask your ISP or even the police.

 

If you have his email, type it into facebook, see if you can find out what school he goes to etc.
Otherwise, pretty sure you can't do anything with just his ISP/Host Address.

 

Yeah, call up the ISP and "social engineer" them into telling you the subscriber's name.

Might be tough, but you seem motivated. Perhaps a *67 from Skype and you could pretend to be ... well, I don't want to encourage impersonating government officials.

 

heres what you could do if it is one of your friends... go to their house or have them goto yours and have them log in their account, you'll be able to see their address, and if they match up... well you do what you want.

 

What rastari said, check out your friends ip's first, or even talk to them on msn and ask them to go to ipchicken or some shit, also you can open a MSN convo with them and then use the program cPorts - I won't post a link for obvious reasons, google it though, and find if the ip matches up.


If it doesn't, call the ISP provider and spin them some bullshit, It could be anything - YOu have been receiving many ddos attacks from the ip and want to report it to the police - they stole/keylogged you etc. I'm sure if you're persuasive, polite, calm and collected you can talk your way into getting the address.

 

Pretty much what everyone else said. Bullshit your way into getting the address from the ISP. But it does seem really fishy that the guy is from your same town. Might want to check on your friends and see if someone screwed you over.

 

http://www.ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/ enter the ip there and itll tell you where the ip is from, if its not a proxy or done at a library/school/wifi network it will take you to the house/street.

Incorrect. I just tried this and as you may think its accurate, the map did not pin point to the exact location where I am. Therefore if the OP does try this, knocks on the wrong door, like he says he will, he will be making a complete ass of himself.

Any IP locator you use, will not give you the exact pin point, however it will give you a general idea as to where abouts the IP came from. How big of a radius is it off? From what I noticed when I tried it, I would say give or take 2 miles.

Tried it and it took me like half way across town from where I live.... Completely different area at the other end of the city centre.... lol.

That ip tracer is terrible, It tells me (Wigan UK) my ip is in blackpool?

you need to check your friends ip's first cuz thats really sketchy thats the hacker is in the same town. but do what everyone elses says call his provider.

 

eh it takes me to the street i live on and i mean lets be honest if the ip is no where near his he isnt going to travel to say scotland to get his 200m back lol
