As some of you may know, I recently got hacked and had to pay back GP worth hundreds of dollars to people who got scammed by the hacker, he was not however able to get my Sythe account since it was not related to the email (Hotmail) account which got hacked. Apperantly, hotmail/live.com has a security flaw which allows people to aquire someones account (won't exactly get into how they're doing it).

My solution to this problem is to ALWAYS ask for a PM before trading someone. In my case for example where my MSN got hacked, NOT my Sythe account, none of the people who got scammed would have gotten scammed if they requested a PM via Sythe first. If this is the case, you should not be held liable to pay back any losses which the hacker scammed. If however a PM WAS sent, you'd have to pay back whatever.

Getting hacked the way I was, as well as Video and many other, would not have happened if Hotmail didn't have this security flaw. Unfortunely, using an MSN adress to communicate is the most convenient way to buy/sell goods through Sythe.

So, if you clearly state to always ask for a PM before trading, you should not be held liable to pay back anything if your MSN got hacked and the hacker denied the request of a PM via Sythe. I believe this system could work out very well in the end, cutting down scams due to being hacked.

In one way I totally see your point and I agree with it. But at the same time that means people who are in full control of their sythe accounts may just decide to take an upgrade or what ever they want because the person knows they are trusted and wouldn't scam so they don't get a pm. Then the trusted user doesn't have to pay for it and has no fear of a ban. Basically you can have full proof of some one scamming but since you wanted to do a quick trade or for some reason you didn't get a pm they get away with it.

I agree, support. Although I think this has been suggested before, hopefully it gets more support. If someone isn't smart enough to ask for a PM, then they don't deserve you to reimburse them out of your own pocket for their carelessness.

I personally agree with this policy, but the downside is that anyone who didn't ask for a pm could just be scammed and the user could claim the msn was hacked. There would have to be a site-wide announcement and probably some disclaimer when new users register for sythe too, that they must ask for pm's before they trade

No. Its a way to allow big sellers to make more profit and scam without any worry of being banned. If you think MSN is too hackable, don't use it.

Honestly, this is too hard to agree or disagree with.

It's too easy to hack an msn, from what I've heard.
Imo, maybe you should have to pay back 50% or so ?
But honestly, it is your account that scammed, and in a way is your responsibility =/

I fully support, it's just that the more trusted members could scam thousands, just because someone's trusted doesn't mean they won't scam =/

But, my suggestion, if the trade is over $100, then support.
It's almost retarded not to ask for a PM these days for most trades, but in over $100's you'd need to ask imo.
