VPSes for botting - Talk about them here!

Does anyone know if running multiple bots per client is better? I've heard that the RAM usage is the same with 3 bots or 1 bot on a client but that doesn't make sense.

If that were the case I could open 5 clients with 3 bots each and run 15, rather than 8?

Okay, this is from experience.
2 SG bots on one client = 1.5/2GB.
2 SG bots on different clients 1.2-1.3/2GB.
Didn't make much difference for me

 

It doesn't matter. The client is what uses the most of your CPU usage. If you have more than 1 client running ( which is idiotic ) you'll be laggy. If you have 3 bots on one client, it shouldn't hurt anything. Just make sure you use the unsigned applets.

 

Log into their website>go to Services tab> click your vps (outlined green)>click Upgrade>select upgrade> a ticket is automatically generated and the proper persons notified to hook you up. This saves time.

2. if you see percentages you are not in safe mode. Turn globals to the left then when you select random rewards, immediately afterwards click the screen rapidly and press S repeatedly, don;t worry about click off Bot and have your mouse cursor right near where the "Cancel or OK" button from Break handler will pop up. Click it quickly and continue with your clicking and smashing and hope it goes 1-2-3-4-5-98 in percentage increments if not you messed up.

Once again I am not sure but you can try right click beside the jar and open terminal here, then type java -jar RSBot-231.jar

You won't be able to run much for $6 a month as it's "you get what you pay for" in the webhosting world.

Don't bother the support team with bot problems, let's just be careful and happy they allow us to do so as we are resource heavy clients, and if improperly used botting scripts can affect other clients on your nodes which leads to action from the providers. I've seen it time and time again. So use this thread or whatever other resources you can find before resorting to asking a provider for bot help.
My advice:

open firefox download the bot then download the seperate jar they made available recently, install-linux.exe again and check if it fixes anything.(im assuing rsbots.net)

YardVPS is NOT for botting, you risk losing money if you order from them they are a single core processor and using these cpu intensive scripts will lead to problems. Jimmy Lu, whom is kind enough to allow us to bot with Photonvps is the owner and we correspond about botting tech issues, I've helped him with router issues to impsoft on one occasion and taught his level 3 engineer about bots when he was overwhelmed with tickets. He kindly asked me not to use Yardvps for botting as his Photon Xen packages are top notch quad core machines great for botting(link in my sig) and YardVPS is low priced because the cpu wont cut it. I stated this earlier here. If you don't believe me I can upload a pic, I am just trying to kindly warn you all.

It does make a difference, although slight. If you run a over 6-8 bots I would invest in multiple auths/clients. It makes a difference on CPU power mostly you can gauge them yourself by opening console and typing free -m and free -cpu.

I read somewhere abut providers not liking unsigned clients, so I disagree. I would advise using signed clients when available even if you sacrifice squeezing in that one last bot on your last bit of memory. Using a vps like that will quickly get you capped/terminated/etc or frustrate the provider into changing ToS to dissalow botting I've seen it before.

Well, a dedicated server is basically split up into multiple VPS. Basically the people who you buy your vps from just buys a whole server and splits it up into a vps to sell. So technically your only using a portion of a server.

 

Burst.net is cheapest provider but only use if you know how to setup the vps yourself.

Yes, and it's also the cheapest in terms of quality.

If you're going to get a VPS, don't get an awful one. In the VPS world, you get what you pay for.

I would much rather spend the extra $10 or whatever and know that my VPS will always be up and will run smooth.

 

I have my eye out for a great dedicated server. Moving towards one soon enough, it's hard to find sufficiently what we need for a great price and with so many hosts it's really buyer beware. I'm doing some research before renting a box, eventually I'd like to buy one or get a slim server for home use.

Personally, I use one AMD X6 PRocessor. It fulfills all of my botting needs. I have 17 accounts running, using the RSBUDDY Client.

Any idea how long photon take to send out VPS information and get everything set up?

 

only VPS i've used is photon, and it's pretty decent.

i hear there are good ones in like denmark or something.

 

if you dont want a vps you could always get like 1 gig sticks at a store.

 

Maybe but if a vps is located in Denmark it would most likely be a pain in the ass to control bots on.
