When someone uploads a malicious link, rather than just banning the person, actually delete the link too, or delete the whole thread? There are many threads where the person is banned but the link is still there.

Yea I agree, although it should be an indicator to the people reading the thread that they probably shouldn't trust things posted by them, some newer people might think about it. I think it would be helpful if they removed links as well.

I believe mods do try to delete it/edit it out, but sometimes they probably just forget. Anyways, definitely support.

Agreed, pretty much staff just needs to be more on top of things than they are now, doesn't really require much

The reason for this is because a person posted in two different forum sections. For example, if they post a link in Runescape 2 General as well as in Selling Gold, I personally can only delete the Runescape posts. I'll ban him, but a market mod will have to see the spam report against his Market Post before that gets deleted.

Normaly, I just PM a market mod and have him delete all of the posts by that banned user that are in the market section. Still, sometimes a market isn't on, etc... Bear with us. They will be deleted and were already flagged for deletion before he got banned.

    Just my 2 cents

    To Globals:

If you get these guys first DO NOT even consider editing the posts, just zip to their profile and all recent posts/threads and delete away like your life depends on it.

    To Sectionals:

Edit the first post if you want but a better idea is to go to their created threads and delete all in your section first. Alert a market/Global ASAP and the offender will be removed swiftly.

    To Members:

DO NOT ever hesitate to send a PM to ALL online mods (within reason) about a phishing thread/spree. I got many PM's like this and will accept them 24/7 when I get back to modding some day.

    Efficiency.

Most times its not deleted right away is with the scenario Kero has described.

How about, if you guys just reported them as you saw it (To regular members)
And not post "Do not go, virus!!!" "LOL KEYLOGGEr"

Posting on a thread that contains a virus, all it does is BUMPS THE THREAD BACK TO THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

Report it, and in the report put "keylogger/virus - remove link" when I do that, it's done.
    If they forget, I re-report.

Just don't fucking post on it, it'll just bump to the top.

Agreed. If you see these, PLEASE do NOT post on them. Alert any sectional in charge of that section or any global AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Most of us keep a public msn for these reasons. We may not get to a PM right away, but we normally get to MSN messages quickly (I do at least, as long as I'm at the computer)

Not to mention I'm quite sure things like "don't click" or "can someone tell me if its clean first" is counted as spam and can be infracted

Maybe only one person should post just to warn those who haven't seen them yet as there are people who will fall for it no matter what. I mean most of the topics get deleted so the post count disappears as well I believe?

If people fall for phishers this late in the game then they deserve to lose their mills. Phishers are just an annoyance now and I hate opening a thread with 5 responses just to see a phisher link and 5 people saying don't click

Agreed, I did this a few times and quickly realized the stupidity of it but I see so many retards doing this OVER and OVER.
Finally you've stopped with that big blue text. ;)

Many people are new to rs and/or rs cheating and don't know the dangers of phishers. Other times it might actually seem really legit; one time I almost fell for a sythe account phisher as the link was VERY much like the real one as well as the layout replacing the "s" with a "z".

I don't have a problem with one or two people pointing it out, for anyone stupid enough to otherwise fall for it, until a mod takes care of it. No one gets free post count since the thread gets deleted anyway. We just don't want to keep those things bumped.

Most people don't fall for there dumb stuff. It's not a BIG problem and Moderators are handling it so I think it's fine.

Edit; fuck, I'm on iPod and no idea how to reply to such a big wall. Will reply to it later.
    Always do
Makes sense, but why not just delete everything they posted? I often see threads that are just locked with the link in there.
Most staff dont bother to respond. Gets kinda frustrating in times like this, so I just report& wait.
I never do post on the threads. I just report and move on. But the links still stay -_-

I guess I'll pm you the links then
    It is.
Well, the only time I post I'd people actually download it.
Agreed, it's still saddening though, :( . I guess they gotta learn and move on though.
    They made sythe phishers? -__-
    ....?
    Posts get deleted...so.
One person makes two, then on and on. People think it's OK to keep posting.
I can't tell if you're trolling or not. Many people fall for this.

Excuse any mistakes, this was done on my iPod.
