Learning The Ropes

Due to the rising number of scams lately I have decided to compile a simple user and trading guide to avoiding future bad trades and help prevent the lose of your hard earned money. Please take your time to read this and leave feedback, all opinions are welcome!

When you're joining a new website, what is the first thing you should always do? Read the rules section! If you have not done this I suggest you take a few minutes out of your day to do so. Click on the following image to be redirected to the Sythe Rules thread.

Don't forget to visit the FAQ section, it will provide you with the general history of Sythe, how it operates on a every day basis, and many general questions you may have about our community. Click on the following image to be redirected to the Sythe FAQ section.

After reading the Sythe Rules and FAQ threads you can now proceed to introducing yourself to our community. For best results leave a short 3-4 paragraph stating your name, how you stumbled upon Sythe, the reason you joined, and anything else you feel deemed necessary, but make sure it's not too long or users will get lazy and probably will not read your story! Many users are skeptical about website staff and their efficiency to sufficiently help the community, but in my personal opinion Sythe.org has some of the best staff of any forum board I have ever used, they listen, work with you, and participate in the daily community. Sythe.org takes pride in hiring staff and it is a long process to become hired no matter what position. Click on the following image to be redirected to the staff introduction section.

Now that we have all of the technical stuff out of the way, we can get to the good stuff and what most of you came to Sythe for, Market Trading! Sythe offers a great marketplace that offers buying and selling for many top MMO games on the market today, as well as non-virtual items such as ipods or games.

Always check a users join date, post count, and vouches. I can't stress the importance of these three things! Please be smart when it comes to trading, if a user joined a week ago, has a low post count, and little to no vouches, do not trade with this person without using an Official Middle Man. Please have the Middle Man send you a private message with their MSN to make sure they are who they say they are. If you decide to go first and not use a Middle Man please don't be fooled, always check the quality of a users vouches and authenticity by doing a little research via the search bar. If he/she seems to have high valued trades and good feedback they will be less likely to scam you rather then trading with somebody that has a vouch or two trading for a low amounts. Always have the user post in your thread, private message you there MSN, once they have contacted you via MSN to be on the safe side have the user take a screen shot of the conversation and private message it to you to prove it is them, also when trading always take screen shots! With this information you will have proof in case this user decides to scam you. Click on the following image to be redirected to the Middle Man forums.

It's a short and simple guide, Good job! I suggest you add that the user should check the quality of the vouch. I would rather trade someone with 4 vouches of $50 trades, than someone with 15 vouches of $.50 trades. Also, another tip, say "Click on the following image to be redirected to ___", It sounds more professional and easier to comprehend. Overall, It's a pretty good guide. Keep up the good work!

Well written guide, I like how everything was spaced out and overall had a very professional look. This most definitely help new users when they first come to Sythe in their trading endeavors.

Can't wait to see some more guides like this that are aimed for new users so they can be more aware of the risks here on Sythe.
