I'd like to suggest that in both sections a sticky is placed informing the users that A LOT of chargebacks are being done lately from paypal, all from newcomers!

    This will help everyone :D

Who cares if they go first, send as gift, they will chargeback, mofos.

Its a bit of discrimintation saying its all from newcomers cause alot of chargebacks arnt just from newcomers a large variety are but just warn people about the chargebacks because saying its mostly from newcomers means alot of the newcomers won't be able to trade because no one will trust them and will be scared of them charging their cash back.

Maybe someone can take the initiative to write a sticky? I think I'll write one, send a copy to a moderator+ and see what they think.

No support, people wouldn't have to worry about chargebacks/reversals if they took all necessary precautions.

Also, this has always been a problem, and will continue to be. Not only that, but its quite obvious, so I don't think its needed.

No support. I deal with a LOT of newcomers w/ my GP shop. Most of them are legit. There's just that select few who are out there to screw others over. Doesn't mean they are all bad.

Also. The whole obsession w/ gift, needs to end. Paypal WILL NOT hesitate to limit an account for doing large amounts of trades via gift, and trading w/ gift has the EXACT same risk of chargebacks as any other method. The only thing trading via gift does, is circumvent the fees associated w/ paying via paypal, and I do NOT recommend doing this. Its not hard to tell if someone is sketchy and will most likely dispute a payment. Just spend time talking to the buyer before a trade and you generally will be able to make a legitimate judgement. Have standards.. i'll list some of mine:

    When to trade:
    • Person is constantly trying to bargain for a better price; these people value their own money and most likely don't plan on disputing.
    • Someone wants to buy a low amount; not many disputers will waste time on low trade disputes.
    • High vouches; obviously.

    When not to trade:
    • Buyer is rushing you; most likely trying to get through as many transactions as they can before they are banned on sythe for disputing.
    • Buyer has no vouches and wants to buy 100m+; unless you really trust the person, never trade a high amount to someone with no reputation.

Those are only a few. It's the seller's responsibility to understand the risks, and most sellers most likely already do.

As N4no said.. DON'T gift (if your a big time seller anyway.) Constantly gifting will only lead to a limited paypal account. I personally send and receive payments as a service and haven't had any problems. I'm happy giving paypal a cut to ensure my paypal account doesn't run into any problems. That's really the only plus gifting has over other payment methods.. the fees, because it is just as easy to dispute a gift.

were you selling him like 300k RSGP or something? lol

OT: I've almost completely turned to PA for all my PayPal transactions, unless I highly trust the person I'm trading with, I don't allow them to send money directly to my PayPal account. If buyers are serious, PA takes less than 5 minutes to set up, and I'm more than willing to help them walk through the process.

Gold sales have deterred a bit, but it ensures 100% scam-free sales.

That's kind of funny but pathetic at the same time. One suggestion I have is to use a checkout button, stating that the trades are for Runescape Gold Pieces. Another thing is to get screenshots of EVERYTHING. Make the buyer confirm sythe name, in game name, paypal email, and the name on the paypal account in MSN, and get a screenshot of you putting the GP up in trade, AND another of you completing the trade. That's your best defense against a "Non-Receipt" claim. As far as Charge-Backs go, there's not a lot you can do other than show your proof, and hope that paypal doesn't refund the payment.

As CSKiffint1 said, if you take the necessary precautions, it wouldn't happen.
Everyone knows there are risks with PayPal, there really isn't a need for a sticky IMO.
