    Gaming Computer

Hey guys been looking to get my hands on a good gaming computer but I'm not a genius when it comes to stuff like this. I went to best buy earlier today and everything sounded awesome from the customer support person who I was talking to however, they have biased viewpoints in my opinion so I wanted to hear your opinions on this laptop based off its specs and what-not. I'd be using this primarily for RuneScape and WoW.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ASUS+-+...lack/1774899.p?id=1218290438380&skuId=1774899

Idk why it's such a long link but I can GUARANTEE you it's not a phising link. If your uncomfortable clicking on the link I can try and find a different way to show you the laptop I'm interested in and if it's worth it for the money.

    All help appreciated!

I have a friend who has that computer. He was actually just telling me yesterday the wireless cuts out sometimes when he plugs in or just at random times. Besides that it's a great computer though.

Why don't you get an Alienware M17x? I use it for Rs and everyday work and it works flawlessly.

    Alienware blows to be honest
Get a Computer with Linux operating system its top quality if not get windows 7
Computer looks good but seems a bit overpriced for only 2 cores, You could easily get more bang for your buck, also if your getting a computer for just runescape in High quality you could get a less powerfull comp and run it just fine
I get around 30-40 FPS in High detail with an acer aspire 5532 single core

"looks good but seems a bit overpriced for only 2 cores"

^Dude seriously think before you speak, alright? The only multicore cpu that'll fit into a laptop is a quadcore and an i3 would smoke it. That cpu is an i7, it's atm even faster than intel's xeon dual core. It's got quite the clock speed on it!

The only issues I see is that it is using an intel, so the 4gb rule applies, also it looks like you could have a problem with it overheating frequently, so I would suggest purchasing a cooling pad while you're there.

The price isn't "bad", but check out dell's depot, Their warranties will rival best buy, and you could get the same specs (better cooling system included) for around 700$. Remember: dell depot, not their store, warehouse, their DEPOT.

Give that a look before you settle on a desicion, though for gaming I suggest an AMD cpu, and more ram. :p

Essentially, what the depot is, when somebody buys a system and they test run it, let's say.. the webcam doesn't work, they have to take it back to the assembly line and replace it, but because it didn't work right off the bat they have to mark down the price. Let's you get a sick deal on it, and upgrade the shit out of it. I bought a 3500$ dell xps (back when they where better than their alienware models) for about 1100$.

That's a decent laptop. Could get a quad core for not much more though.
will run RS on max, not sure about wow cuz I don't play

You will have no problem with the amount of RAM and the processor you have. People like to try and use it as an excuse for getting people to switch to AMD's, but there isn't any noticeable difference.
