The Community Support Applicant Discussion Thread

Here you can discuss the Community Support application process. You can seek help, advice or tips when applying, as well as getting to know other Community Assistants and applicants. The discussion need not be exclusively about Community Support. Like I say, we can get to know one another here and discuss an assortment of things.

    Have fun!

Hey Wulfspade1 :D here is some feedback for your application.

Overall I think your application looks great. It has a nice looks to it graphics wise, and also holds some great content about yourself and why you would like to be a part of our team. I enjoyed reading through your application, and I truly believe that you truly do like to help others. The post you provided in which showed where you helped others at was helpful as well. You also show that you really desire to be a part of the team, and are willing to take tips and information in order to make your application better. This is a good trait, and will show very helpful when it comes to voting on your application.

As for your guides, I have reviewed a good bit of them, and I would say that for the most part they are up to par. Your grammar in each of the guides looks good as well, so that's a plus. The extra couple of guides also shows that you are kind of going beyond expectations, so that's always good.

Your posting in the H&R section looks alright, but to be honest things such as this can really always be improved. I know i'm somewhat guilty myself of not posting enough in the H&R section, but still it could possible prove helpful for you.

Anyways I hope that this helps you out somewhat. I know I didn't add in that many things on which you can improve on, but that's a good thing because I can't really find much on which you can improve on. I guess one more thing I could add is to just be patient and wait for the UE voting to go under it's natural course. Don't worry so much if your application seems to be taking a few more days then usual, and just wait it out. Once again best of luck!

(I hope that this is a good review for the new thread. I'm not 100% accustomed to the whole revamp of the UE section, but i'm sure to do better with time.)

Your application in itself is well structured. The layout is simple, yet effective. Everything's spaced out nicely, and the colors don't clash. Application is good.

I've already commented on your first guide (on the guide), and like it. It's fairly simple, and quite short, but good. See if you can try to lengthen up your next guides while still keeping the information applicable. Sometimes when people go for length they end up adding tons and tons of filler.

    Overall, very solid. Good stuff.

I haven't had a chance to read through your guides yet, so I'll edit this once I have. As for your actual application, I'm not really a fan of the red/gold colors, but that could just be me. I think your header at the top would look better centered, as well as possibly the text currently in red.

I'm not sure whether or not I find that font annoying or amusing. It's unique, that's for sure. Overall it's nice and simple. Perhaps quote the, "I Cjmt905, claim that" part of it to make it stand out a little more. Overall it looks nice.

I had the chance to read over your guides, and I found them all to be fairly basic and somewhat short. Despite that, the topics are quite interesting and it's not something commonly written about, so I enjoyed that. Perhaps on your third guide, the wet cellphone one, you could find a new picture of the phone? The current one is a bit blurry.

I think instead of cramming everything into your "About me" section, you can create more sections in your application. For example: "Why I am re-applying", "About me", "Why I would like to be a user educator", etc. You can do a lot to improve your total appearance of your application, I would like to see more effort on your application. Now, for your guides. I really don't know how that ice cream guide can be helpful, If I really wanted to make homemade ice-cream, I would search google, to be honest. For your second and third guides, I think your second could be helpful, the same for your third guide. They're pretty short, try adding more information on them if possible. I suggest making one or two more guides before sending in your application. Try to choose topics that are original, a lot of people are struggling with, etc. Also, I have checked your posts, I really did not see you help anyone. I want you to use more of the sections around the forum, most of your posts are market based. Try using the H&R section more, as well as the other sections. Remember, UE's vote on things other than guides as well. Like posts around the forum, general behavior, etc. Good luck!

You can do both, just remember to give credit and you'll be fine.

I read through the various "important" threads in this section and I didn't see anything mentioning a minimum time required as a member to join. Does such a rule exist?

No such rule exists, although it's recommended that you wait a little while and get experienced with the forums and helping out with your posts before applying.

Please don't take the following as an insult, I'm just giving you tips on how to improve your application. Alright, I said this in your application, and I will say it now. Your application needs a lot of work, as soon as I see your application, it looks like someone barely put any effort into it and made it in five minutes. You should proof-read your application, you have a lot of spelling and grammar errors. Try looking in the accepted applications section. Look at their layouts and the quality of their guides. They're excellent, and if you want to be part of the team, your guides should be excellent as well. For example: Kmjt and Plznate's guides.

Now, since we're talking about your guides. I would like to start out saying that your guides are to vague. Your first guide can be google'd easily and too short. Your second guide is also really short. You can improve the layout of your guides a lot, also try to add more information. I highly suggest you go back and edit your guides. Also, try adding one or two more guides. This will show your enthusiasm into becoming a UE. If you're stuck on a guide topic, try making guides on something original or something a lot of people are having trouble with.

You should also try helping out people more. I saw your posts, you help people every now and then, but I want to see consistency. Please don't take this as an insult, I'm just giving you the best advice I can to increase your chances into becoming a UE. By the way, you can read this guide I made, It might help you. Good luck!

I'm done with the "required" two guides now. Can anyone give me some honest feedback as to weather or not I should make a third due to the fact that my first guide was relatively short?
