Banned - Account Hijacking?

UPDATE : APPEAL DENIED


So, I log into Runescape today and I see that my account has been disabled. Check my appeals and it says I'm banned for account hijacking. What the fuck? The only things I can think of are :

I share my account with my sister.
I have a pure I log into on tons of computers.
I use a VPN that I forget to sign out of to log on Runescape sometimes.
My friends have given me large sums of gold lately. (One quit and gave me 100M)

Could any of these be the reason? And how the hell do I appeal or get this unbanned? Account had 600M+ on it and I've played on it for over 7 years and never had anything like this happen, only other offenses are Cussing/Item Scamming (dice game). What to do?

 

Samw thing happened to my 138 last month, guy who I sold it to got scammed and they got it banned for account hijacking and had access to it until they got banned and fucked up the appeal.
Personally for me I think it has something to do along the lines of:
-Recovering the account fairly often
-Account getting locked multiple times (Like a lot)
-Logging in from a good number of different IPs
Other then that I have no clue as I'm wondering myself :S

Edit: Mine wasn't account sharing/selling it was just "Account Hijacking"

 

Account Hijacking means just that.. you have stolen accounts. Or atleast Jagex thinks that you have.

Sharing accounts wouldn't have resulted in it. Nor would getting/giving gold. Nothing you listed would result in a hijacking offense.

Have you bought any accounts recently?

Edit: The only thing you can do is appeal it, unfortunately. If they have made a mistake, I guess they will unban you.

 

I never buy accounts. I've used the same one since 04. I've never hacked an account, and the only time I ever did anything close to this was with a friend when he was x'ferring a lot of gold from accounts of his to other ones, but I never used my account nor did I use my IP.

All I know is my account has had ton of IP's on it, so I'm still lost.

 

Hmm, well maybe it has something to do with the many different IP's on the one account.. I'm not really sure =/

That sucks that you lost so much man, especially due to a mess-up by Jagex.

 

Man I just hope Jagex doesn't give me some shitty auto response when they look at my appeal. I couldn't say much, but I sent an e-mail to them. Had over 600M on that account man shit.. All I got now is some pure with 3M on it and it's level 18. Does that BAR account unban thread work?

 

Yes, one of my accounts was unbanned by posting in it. However I'm sure the thread is like a thousand pages long, so you'd be waiting a while for an answer

When you get an account unlocked with BAR, do you get all your shit back or do they rollback everything regardless?

 

I still haven't paid off my membership, so I haven't seen it for myself. BUT, I've heard from a few people here that they roll back your stats, and they leave you with 1gp. I've also heard that they leave you with stacks of 1 on everything. So like if you had 2 furies, it would be rolled to just 1.

Again, that's just stuff I've heard. Can't say from experience though.

 

I would hope that if you post on the BAR thread you would be an exception. I believe it is only the people banned for real world trading or botting get stats and weath removed.

If you been in possession of that account this entire time, and orginally created it its a weird situation. Especially since they usually just lock an account if its found to have been hijacked.

My only question is have you ever posted a picture and not blanked your name out? I know it sounds crazy, but perhaps they do check this site.

Final thought is the VPS has a different ip adress. someone else using it could have been banned and they traced ur ip to having the same one?

Jagex does not issue this ban lightly or without sufficient evidence.

 

The problem is, if they truely believe you've stolen the account they won't give it back to you even with roll backs, but if they realise they've made a mistake I'm sure it will be as good as you left it.

 

I've used the account review thread and never have had anything rolled back.
If last chance appeal fails, Give it a post. Preferably from an account that has no offenses and has been around for a while.

Damn I'm going to be so shitty if my account stays banned, I've NEVER had an account banned/locked in my 7 years of playing.

 

What do you get when you click look evidence?

Not exactly word for word, but something like that about how I can't see it.

 

Could you please PM the email you used to contact Jagex? I face a similar situation with a locked account and they keep denying my appeals.

 

You might not think of it, or even think it happens, but it most certainly does. The gold you've acquired from friends lately, if that was stolen off of other accounts - then they gave it to you, Jagex would have no problem banning you aswell. Much like the current Chessy situation.
