Having an operation...

I'm having an operation next Wednesday.

A few days after that, I will be having a second operation.

I have been in and out of hospital since August, but each time I go I make sure to bring my laptop and prepaid internet.

Have you had serious medical issues before? Sucks hard

 

Luckily I have not had to experience anything like that. Why are you there?

ive torn my acl and mcl.
never had one that i got naturally(other than asthma/bronchitis)

I've never had any operations.

 

I had my appendix removed in August of last year (Acute Appendicitis), and since then everytime I stop taking antibiotics I keep developing abscesses in my pelvic area.

After ages I was able to find a surgeon that has dealt with my particular type of case before (the pelvic collections thing is apparently not uncommon after getting appendix out, but the reason I am getting it is more complicated).

I'm just happy to get it over with I guess, but the 2 operations do make me a bit nervous.

I guess I'm the only one that has had a messed up medical history LOL, I've had brain surgery like 4 times (once they made me stay awake during the surgery, weirdest thing I ever experienced) and now this abscess nonsense has brought me up to a total of 6 surgeries in my short life (it will be 8 after this hospital trip...) and I am only almost 22.

About a year and a half ago, I was going to get my spline taken out, but that didn't happen.
I was scared at first, but you realise its not bad. Although i've never had an operation.

 

I've been blessed with a limber body and good health. Never broken a bone or had any major operations.

The most I've had is stitching without anaesthetic...

 

I had MRSA and stayed there a couple days. Other than that, not really .. I don't think.

 

damn man, you have been dealt a tough hand in life. look at the positive aspect of this situation though: This operation is for your own good. if it wasnt, the team of medical professionals responsible for your wellbeing wouldnt be working on you.
Ive had nose surgery for a deviated septum (broken nose bone). I was unconscious for 6 hours during which i was intubated (sucks ass). During recovery i didnt eat for a week because i was so nauseas and i lost 15 lbs. but now i can breath out my nose! hooray!

Only "operation" I've had is getting my wisdom teeth pulled out.
