Everyone who actively plays RuneScape, or is active on any blackmarket sites knows that the price of gold is decrasing. It's crashing, bad. Free trade dealt the blow, and now it's bleeding out. It's all cause and effect.
    Cause - effect
Free trade returns - old members come back
old members come back - realize they don't care about rs anymore
    don't care anymore - bot
bot - huge amounts of GP on scape
huge amounts of gold - prices crash

This seems like an endless cycle. If only I could time travel with my account...
I now find myself with a daily reposession of gold that used to be considered godly. This trend won't end. Soon enough there will be trillions, if there aren't already. There will be way too much gold, and way too many items. Everything will become worthless, the game will become boring, decline rapidly, crash, and die.

Don't think that people will quit RS when gold is easy to get?
    Ever played a private server?
    Do you still play it?
    Exactly.

There's more to runescape than just the economy: skilling, quests, minigames, etc. sure the economy is getting fucked over by greedy bastards but it wont "kill" runescape. just my opinion

In my opinion Jagex will step in and actually start banning or doing something when it starts getting serious. They don't want RuneScape to die.. look how much they are raking in from it now.

Fagex doesn't give a FUCK who plays it.
They'd be cool if just two million bots played every day, as long as they pay for members.

Eventually, when the game starts crashing, they will do something about bots, and possibly reset economy back to times when it was better.

This won't happen because whenever the economy gets like that, Runescape will kill it. Once they discover how far in the hole it is, they'll fix it.

Jagex will likely add many updates long before it ever got so bad the game would die. A solution, albeit temporary, is to add another money sink like construction, which I guarantee will happen in the future. All Jagex has to do is add updates that simply take money out of the game, without adding any. It can easily be done, and most likely will if the inflation ever gets bad enough.

What you posted is somewhat true, but it's the absolute worst that can happen, and it takes a long time to happen, not a matter of days or months, but rather several years at the minimum, with the maximum being never.

Yeah, you could be right. Or more people would pay for membership because its not impossible to get the items they want. ;).

They have full rights on the game, they can reset, and ban everyone if they wanted. Since botting breaks the ToS, and they can't catch everyone, they could accuse anyone, knowing it does happen.

I think jagex will step in soon. as you can see on the runescape forums there are people organizing bot killing armies armed with p mods and plant markers. jagex knows the economy is tanking and like always they will come up with a dumbass solution

Agreed. They will do some crazy mass bans of botters and RWT'ers before they let the economy get *completely* fucked up.

Tbh, I don't see how it's so hard for Jagex to just ban any account that plays 20+ hours a day. Only exception being the super-no-lifers, which would most likely be maxed players not doing the same task constantly.

But I agree, this whole botting this is getting out of hand.
I just bot stats, and make money (for the most part) legit.

    Bots = membership = profit
It's not hard. They could easily do it.
