Consider hiring a sprite artist or find someone willing to make them for you.

 

I was planning on finding some good sprites off the internet once I have a lot more completed. But this is only for practice just to see if I could pull it off. Maybe my next game I'll get someone who is good at pixel art or something.

Saturday (3/18/11) - Been working on some sprites. Added a new monster called a Bug monster (lol). It shoot's stuff at the player. I also created a interface in game to make it look alot better with a health bar. Health bar goes down 25% when shot by a bug. Also made the screen a bit longer to fit the interface. Also redid the game over menu. I added "Game Over!" in big letter's so the player doesn't see some random screen just pop up. Added an explosion if the player dies.

Would like to see you progress to a 3D game when you're ready. Looks pretty freakin' cool.
