    Punkerpunk13 Onto A New Journey..

    Trusted in thread title rule

Well I know that you can't put highly trusted in your thread title if you've not got the rank. I see alot of people putting trusted in their thread title. Its obvious that many of them aren't trusted. I was wondering what the rule was on putting it in your thread title.

    Thanks,
    Punkerpunk13

I see it so much I would assume there is no rule. But I feel it should be against the rules, almost everyone who puts this in their title is not "trusted" what so ever (whatever you define trusted as...). Just gets to a point where people see it and it means nothing.

There is no rule against this as everyone has their own opinion on trusted or not. There's been a few threads like this and that has been the answer that is given.

Ultimately it is up to the other person in the trade to deem weathor or not the person is trusted, but if they want to have trusted then they can.

I agree. Noobies writing "Trusted" makes me annoyed. But I suggested this once as well. No luck.

But an opinion of yourself isn't what matters when trading. It should be left up to the member of the opposite party too decide.

I see this an opinion. To a new member, 5 vouches can be "trusted".
For example, a person might find someone attractive, and another individual might not. Its all about the way you look at it. Therefore it cant really be limited, as each person defines trust in a different way.

That's what I said in my post but you make your own thread titles, others don't.

Then writing [OMM] in your thread should be allowed aswell.

Actually, all scamming on Sythe should be okay. No one is forcing you to fall for it..?

Writing [OMM] on your thread is imposturous and deceitful. And for the record, scamming is and never will be okay.

You can only put OMM if you have the Official Middleman rank. It's not allowed to put it if you don't have it. As for the [Trusted] tag, you can put it, but you can't put [Highly Trusted] because that is a rank and you don't have it. (Make sense?)

As for the scamming part, read JohnK's post.

That would be like me taking a picture of a guy and labeling it as a girl; use your own common sense to decide whether or not there is any truth in the label.

If your decisions on whether you should trust someone or not are based on a user-title; you've got more problems on your hand.

There is no rule but I support one, it can be deceitful towards newer members who don't know any better, or people without common sense.

Perhaps an idea the Staff can consider behind closed doors? I think there could be an established standard in order for a member to be "considered" trusted. This could be based upon actions, provided information and history here at Sythe. Thread titles should be supported by facts which are either awarded ranks and/or images of proof.

If I called myself "Sythes Number One Trusted Gold Seller" would you believe it?
Maybe, but it's up for the buyer to decide who's the number one/trusted seller.
    No support.

I don't like it either which is why I usually edit it out.

PM me if you see it happening and I'll take it out.

If I'm not allowed to do this, someone let me know.

People should still be able to put "trusted" in their thread title as that word is a very relative expression. The thread viewer ultimately has the decision to choose whether the OP is actually trusted. The thread poster can deem himself trusted with 0 vouches because they have known themselves since they were created, while it may take over 9000 legit vouches, plus Omm, mod, and admin. for somebody else to consider them trusted.

Thus I think that the thread creator has the right to put "trusted" in their thread title until a "trusted" user title is created. Even though I never see a thread title that says "trusted" in it and not become instantly wary.

If I googled sythe and traded with you because of that title and i had know idea of sythe's history, it's completely my fault? That is in no way true.. If your going to put something in your thread title along those lines, it needs to be official. It really changes people's opinions on who they trade with if they have something like that in their thread title. Not everybobdy has a ton of trading experience, and most that just want some gold are not going to look through everything if somebody had trusted in their thread title and claiming to be sythe's number 1 gold seller.

I'm normally the same way. I'll take a look at someones post count, join date, and vouches. If I don't deem them even somewhat trustworthy, I'll edit the title myself.
