They say (They meaning scientists) that Yellowstone will eventually erupt and the eruption will be catastrophic. Yellowstone is basically a Supervolcano waiting to erupt.

To the guy saying nothing will happen, that's blatantly incorrect. I'm not saying it'll happen in our lifetimes but sooner or later, Yellowstone Supervolcano is going to explode and take a good chunk of the US with it. And yes, it will be cataclysmic for the entire planet.

Now, I'm not saying it's happening soon, but there has been an increase in pressure as well as tremors in that area, and the recent seismic events around the world could be evidence (if not a trigger), for an inevitable explosion. Whether that takes place tomorrow or in 500 years is something no one can know for sure.
