Mainly because nobody has ever heard of it?

I think WU will be a better option.

It's the same as paypal... Put a CC/Bank account on it.

Post something only if you know about it.

OT: Not many people know about it, I personally use it for paying for my VPS since they only take AlertPay. SeerHost says they use AlertPay because you can't chargeback or something unlike PayPal.

Not many use it because it isn't widely known. That and people also just stick with what they know, PayPal.

That's pretty much the problem with alertpay; it actually has seller protection so most buyers don't want to use it. You can request people use alertpay to pay you, but odds are unless you're offering a service that they can't get elsewhere they'll just find somebody who takes paypal.

If you're worried about chargebacks, you should try using www.playerauctions.com. Basically what happens is the buyer sends money to playerauctions, then playerauctions sends you the money after you've confirmed the buyer has gotten their stuff(may take a few days sometimes).

Playerauctions does have some small fees, but they'll cover all the paypal fees so it's not too big, plus it's almost 100% safe, I know quite a few people on sythe are requiring playerauctions to be used when they're trading.

Same thing for MoneyBookers, I haven't had any problems with it so far. But not allot of people are using it.

Just simply because PayPal is popular and as long as you are a buyer it doesn't matter. If your a seller it's pretty much messed up, but buyers doesn't seem to care about it, because even though they can be trusted if you don't deliver the Rsgp, or any other goods, they can chargeback. I understand why they still use paypal though, regarding to the things stated above.
The only way, that I'm aware of, is to vid the whole trade and let them confirm things, but even then I wouldn't be too sure about it to win a claim.

Playerauctions is a good way to sell your gold through, however I find the fees a bit high. Let's say your selling 100M Gp for 75$ through any other method then Playerauctions, once selling through Playerauctions and you want to receive the same ammount of dollars, you will have to sell it at .85$/M. Also, you have to wait 2-3 days before they will pay you, that's a down side, but once your become a powerseller they will pay you within 24hours.

Both of you have valid points yet I don't tend to use PA because of their fees. It's like if you're selling 100m over 5 different transactions they take $2 a transaction and 10%...

When we could just use AlertPay or Moneybookers and sell for lower. The buyer profits in the end as they get cheaper gold.

That's why I don't use PA anymore either, the fee is just to high. Or I'll have to sell my gold for over .80$/M but theres no point because there are bulk sellers on PA selling for .80

I'm using MoneyBookers, and its working great. I'd suggest you to use Mb, low fees. 1% up to 0.50 Euro for me.

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the confirmation of chargebacks. Do any people charge you back on MoneyBookers though?

Nope, that's not possible. Or you must have enough proof why you would chargeback but you can't in 99% of the cases.

Why don't more people use AlertPay?

You should start with a consumer account, since it has a limit of $21k when verifying your bank & address. Which will probably be enough, buisiness accounts are mainly used for way larger amounts to be send and in most of the cases used by shops. Feel free to pm me may you ever need more information about MoneyBookers.
