How do you feel about this subject, honestly, and why?
    How about:
    - In the military?
    - Marriage?

Not meant to offend anybody on Sythe.

In my opinion, I really don't care about it. Someone's orientation couldn't matter less to me. The only thing that REALLY pisses me off is people that go overboard with it. People that talk about "gay gay gay pride rainbows", etc, when they're seemingly looking for attention. I don't go around saying straight pride? I don't understand that.

As far as in the military and marriage, my stance is the same. I really don't mind it, as long as it isn't put out there for no reason.

Homosexuals in the military should be allowed. If you want to defend your country, then it should not matter whether you are gay or not.

Gay marriage is fine as well. If two people want to get married, go for it.

In the Military, I don't know why it shouldn't be allowed. If these guys are willing to fight and die for their country why should it matter if there gay or straight?
Same as gay marriage, there is no reason it shouldnt be allowed.

I could care less. Sexual preference is like race to me, it doesn't matter. It's not like being gay is a disease or something that needs fixed. To those it DOES matter to, I'll never understand why. It doesn't affect their life in the slightest.

Military: Why not? They're human, they're a member of our society, they want to protect the place they call home. Denying them the right to serve is ignorant and arrogant.

Marriage: Why not? If a whore can get married repeatedly and have various children by different men, raising our taxes to support them through welfare and causing debt to their former lovers, why can't two people who are truly in love become married?

Just get on with my own thing and let them get on with theirs, that's how I see it. No need to interfere in each other's business. IF they want to join the military, thats their choice, if they want to marry, again it's their choice as none of it effects me in any way.

I can understand restrictions on homosexuality in the military for the same reason that there isn't coed quarters in the military.

Marriages, of course they should have the right to marry.

One thing that I'm hesitant to decide on is the right of a gay couple to adopt. Whether we maturely acknowledge it or not, people aren't very openly accepting of gays. A child adopted by a gay couple could face problems down the road in their life.

Sexual preference is up to the individual, nobody should be able to change or force someone to choose an option they don't want.

However, it annoys me when guys act feminine. You can be a regular guy who likes men, that is no problem. But why in God's name do many act like girls?

That's because being straight is generally not looked down upon.

I don't have a problem with either. If they want to serve their country, by all means go for it. Since when does your sexual orientation effect your ability to serve? As for marriage, it's their life. If two people want to get married, even if both are of the same sex, they shouldn't be able held back.

I have no problem with it, but I don't like seeing public displays of affection beyond holding hands. But the same goes for heterosexual couples

I'd assume it's because no one goes around insulting you for being straight. What have you got to be proud of? Standing up and being proud of being exactly the same as the majority of the worlds population?

    I don't like them , I'll be blatantly honest.
They want to be treated as a unique person , think they are better than everyone

Obviously this is depending on the person , but that is my opinion based on my encounters with them.

You could say I'm homophobic I suppose.

My words also.. My recent "experience" is pretty much the same. I actually find it odd how far others will go to protect them just so they're better accepted.

As for the military, I have the same thoughts reference females in Light Infantry units. It has nothing to do with them being a weaker sex (gays included), it has everything to do with maintaining a combat unit in the worst of conditions which females and/or homos tend to make more difficult. I'm sorry, but I've seen the on-the-ground impacts of both in combat theaters.

Lastly, How many straight guys wish to see the image of another guy sliding on a pole acting like Tinker Bell? Take it behind closed doors and give the world a break. These over bearing little wanna be girls in my opinion give the bulk a bad rep.

I just think if they were normal , and acted like us straight guys , they'd be more socially and politically accepted.

The reason they are insulted is because they act like that. If they acted normal and didn't wear UGGs and dresses, there'd be no problem.

^ This, truly. There's no reason to act like a girl, except for show, imo.

It's not natural. There's a reason why two men or women cannot reproduce. Is it wrong? Depends on how they act/treat their "gayness". I personally find gays revolting.

    Homosexuality.

I find it revolting that people could find homosexuals revolting.

For starters, it's not a choice. That said, it's not even unnatural. It occurs regularly in nature, as it has forever, in humans and in other animals as well. Just because a 2000 year old book says that it's horrible and wrong, doesn't mean that it's right.

The fact of the matter is this. Yes, it may not make people comfortable to be around them in the military. And yes, some of them tend to act "non-masculine", but you know what? Gender roles have been irrelevant for a long time. In the beginning of the 20th century, a women would be branded as a homosexual if she chose to wear pants instead of a dress or skirt. These days, it's incredibly common. Times change, as do the definitions of "normal". In that regard there's nothing that naturally makes men like football, and there's nothing that naturally makes women like showtunes and glitter. Just because a man finds interest in what would normally be found appealing by women doesn't make him wrong in liking it. Same goes for women who like things normally labelled for men, which is incredibly more accepted than their male counterparts.

Serving in the military is a right and a choice, and gay people should have that right to serve. Not all gay people are sexual assailants, and not all of them care about whether or not someone else is gay. For that matter, a very miniscule portion defines those things, but that miniscule portion is what the media focuses on. The honest truth is that of most of the gay people serving, their comrades probably wouldn't even know that they're gay unless they made them aware of it. And in the same way that straight men have a right to make people aware that they're straight, gay people deserve the same liberty.

As for marriage, these days Christians love to think that they invented it, but they DIDN'T. Marriage even predates Judeo-Christian marriages, and you know what? Some of the first marriages occurred between two men. Just because the bible claims that it's only to be between a man and a women doesn't mean it should be socially acceptable to deny that right to the homosexual population. That said, there IS a distinct separation of Church and State in the government. Government CAN NOT make laws pertaining to the religious proceedings of citizens. Keeping that in mind, it is absolutely UNCONSTITUTIONAL to disallow a religious institution to perform a marriage ceremony between two men. Not only that, but there's absolutely no reason at all that the state should be allowed to disallow it if there really is a separation of church and state.

Do I think a church should have a right to say "We won't let it happen here"? Well, sure. It's their religious institution and their right to deny it. But there are very many churches in this country that WOULD allow it, and there's no reason why they should be forbidden to.

The only reason why anyone would hate homosexuality is ignorance. If you dislike the idea of it, it's entirely because you're too stupid to know otherwise, and I feel bad for you.
