    Pull Up/ Chin Up Questions

So I developed some muscles since I been doing pull up w/ chair assists. I can do about 4 chin ups and 2 pull ups so far. I am trying to increase repetion until 10 and might do weights afteron. So the question is that am I doing my pull ups/chin ups right to gain repetition?

I do pull ups until I can't anymore. After, I'll just do chair assist pull ups or jump and bring myself down slowly. So I keep on doing this until I am really tired. Now after, I feel really sore. The fore-arm area are killing me and a little on my back after.

Am I doing this wrong? If so, give me advice to gain repetition , thanks.

Do it this way. Get a stopwatch/timer/iPod (somthing that can time) and do a set of chinups every minute for 10 minutes. A set means you do that many chinups without getting off of the bar. This set is defined by you, and can be anywhere from 1-10 depending on how many you can do. Do ten sets. Once you are able to do 5 chinups unassisted in one set, start doing pullups instead of chinups. I find that chinups are easier, so you will no longer have to do chinups because, if you can do a set of pullups, you'll easily be able to do a set of chinups. I started with 2 chinups per set, and now I do 7 pullups per set.

All you need to do is pull up till Failure.

There's no secret way or faster way, The more reps you try to push out, the more reps you can do a week later.

What the other guys have already mentioned is pretty good advice. It's all about practice, a good tactic that worked for was to go until failure (when your begin to fail don't give in just keep fighting for that last rep) then immediately switch to doing assisted with your feet on a chair and continue until failure.
