Explanation of the trade: Sold them 300m for $0.16/mill, via btc. They sent $41, with a pic of a $7 bitcoin fee supposedly, when the transaction shows the actual fee was $2.06. Either way, its assumed they will send the average fee, with the average bitcoin fee right now is $0.80. If its $2, that's whatever, but $7?, I could send the same transaction right now from about 5 different wallets instantly for a fee of less than $1 with a 10min confirm. If they did send it with a $7 fee, they should inform their customers that beforehand that the fee they're going to be sending is 10x higher than average. Especially for a smaller transaction.
How they scammed: Sent a $7 btc fee(supposedly) when the avg transaction fee for a 10min confirm is less than $1. Fee sent on transaction explorer shows it was $2. This report is more out of principle if anything, feels like they're just trying to shortchange people, adds up over time.

Binance sending fee for btc is 6.50$ usd, we did notify beforehand that we don’t cover the sending fee. If the mod handling this report thinks we should reimburse 4-5$ I totally understand and have no issue doing so.

 

I mean its assumed/common practice that the fee is going to be normal, not 10x the standard fee, with $5 missing from the transaction since the actual fee shown is only $2. If you're going to be using a wallet that charges you 10x higher than normal fees to send a transaction, that should be communicated beforehand.
And if a mod agrees with the 2nd part that you said, u can send that to the community repayment pool

This imgur album contains all of the chat logs, only thing that was said that they dont cover fee, i said ok, assuming like the 500 other times a similar trade has been done, that it would be a standard fee, maybe even 2x, 3x, not 10x the standard fee.

The transaction ID also shows that only a $2 fee was actually sent for this transaction to confirm(avg daily is $0.80 for 10min confirm). So he just said afterwards that binance took $5 off the transaction to send $41.70, but also anyone could just send $5, or $10 less than the total transaction and afterwards say unlucky bro binance takes $10(not informing u beforehand), and who knows if its even binance taking that fee or just skimming transactions

 

Sadly the binance fee can’t be adjusted, anyone who uses binance can confirm it’s currently around 6-7$ usd.

We agreed that Grins would cover the fee but we didn’t discuss how much the fee would be.

I can give Grins 5$ worth of his gold back or send LTC / USDT to him.

We don’t use BTC often so we’re not too fond of the sending fees but I can understand Grins’ frustration.
