    Being happy and STAYING happy

Whenever I go through a rough patch, I always get through it by knowing it gets better. At my lowest point I didn't go anywhere, talk to anyone, isolated myself and had suicidal thoughts a lot.

Why is it that my mind works this way? I have days which are great, fantastic, and my mood literally changes within 10 minutes to depressive. I can't understand why my mind works this way, why can't I stay happy for extensive periods of time? The only time I've been truly happy is before my Mum died when I was aged 12.

My mood changes so often I'm starting to lose my fucking mind, I can't keep jumping from happy to depressed from day to day. I need help with this, I've tried too long to battle it but I always lose.

Its called depression, and many people suffer from it, including me. I've found its just something you have to deal with.

I'm well aware of what I have to deal with, I've been dealing with it for six years. Some people can't deal with it, why do you think suicide exists?

I highly suggest you try marijuana, not only to imporve your mood, but also your outlook on life, if you want to talk to someone, my pm box is always open.

If I'm honest, I already have a steady outlook on life, but I do agree that it would help my mental well-being. It's finding the right person to sell, though.

The same thing is happening to me too, one day I'm very happy, and in the next 5 minutes, I'm very sad.

That kind of sounds like bipolar disorder to me. I'd see a physician, get checked out.

I do too also experience similar situation, I don't know if you get this, but I get mood swings, usually one day I can be severely happy and careless (not to the point of injuring myself or spending all my money on some pointless thing) but I have a great outlook on life, and the next day I can be down, and unhappy, negative outlook on life and no motivation to get through the day. Back when I had panic attacks, (a year or so ago), I also had suicidal thoughts, and delusions (thought I was stuck in time and actually believed it, also sometimes I thought I was more superior to everyone else, I thought I had supernatural powers, and I could tell the future, etc, which was very abnormal), It all went away for me by separating rational/irrational thoughts. However, if you do have suicidal thoughts, consider going to a normal doctor, doesn't have to be a psychiatrist.

I can be like that too. When I'm feeling depressed I try to focus on the positives and listen to some chill music. Usually works in every day situations.
