If you're willing to spend as much as the above computer, a Mac would be your best bet. I used to have a tendency not to like Macs just cause I heard long time Windows users talk down on them. They're honestly ridiculously better in every single manner. Why don't you want one?

No they're not. Not at all. The operating system is pretty garbage, you need windows to run most games so you'll have to boot camp windows, and you pay out the nose for the price tag.

Macs are the worst computers you could buy unless you want to look "trendy."

Macs arent really for playing games bercause of the hassle you have to go through to make it compatible. So if you are looking into playing a wide range of games i would recommend you stick with windows desktop.

Onboard graphics is an immediate NO. If it doesn't have a peripheral graphics card (Nvidia or AMD) it's going to use up a large chunk of your ram and processor power to process your graphics. Also, the processor it has is pretty much garbage, especially at a low speed of 2ghz. My computer 10 years ago had a 3ghz processor. Even though it says "multi core" the 2ghz processor doesn't make things faster.

    The HP is still better.

I really hope you're joking. It has nothing to do with looking trendy. The operating system isn't even comparable to Windows. The way it indexes files, loads images, etc. are all on a different level then Windows. Please, provide me with specific examples in areas which Macs are lacking.

    Here you go:

I work in IT at a private college. On average we have 5 mac users and 2 pc users come in with network problems per day. Most of the time they're the same mac users. After some mac update it deletes our network configurations and we need to reconfigure. The pc users we never see again.

The Mac OS is significantly heavier than the windows OS. Running a stress test on a machine built to dual boot mac and pc (and linux), the mac side was about 4x slower than the PC side (which was about half the speed of linux). The system was hogging the resources.

The indexing of macs is also pretty retarded compared to windows. It's the same software (Finder) they've used for the past 10 years and never updated.

Want to play games on a mac? Better dual boot into windows or install vine, otherwise you're pretty fucked. And don't even think about running Crysis on a mac, no matter how good the computer is, since all emulation methods for crysis on a mac (Wine more so than others) crashes frequently.

Want to use an external HDD on a mac? It better not be NTFS formatted otherwise the mac won't see it. You have to format everything to be FAT32 to use them with both windows and mac. This also applies to pen drives.

Want to share office files from a mac to a PC? You better custom save them to .doc instead of .docx. The mac .docx doesn't play well with the windows .docx, however the windows .docx I've never had problems with on a mac.

Web browsing? Prepare to stab your eyes out with forks as the spinning color wheel of doom loads everything slow. I swear Windows implements waits whenever loading programs so that it can make sure the program is valid (linux does not which is why linux is faster), but Macs have triple the wait time since the same programs on the same configuration take three times as long to load, especially things like "office."

Want to use custom programs and software? Too bad you got a mac, buddy.

Going from a PC to a mac and have never used a mac before? Prepare to remove your own testicles through your anus with needle nose pliers. Learning how to navigate the mac is just as frustrating as using windows vista, and learning how to clean / maintain the mac is about six times as frustrating. Turns out you need to download a program called Onyx to clean your mac, which in order to unstall it you must first unpack it, then drag it to applications, and then wait for ten minutes while it unpacks and installs. And even then it's a gamble whether or not it unpacked correctly.

    Shall I continue?
