Mandatory OMM

Well, now you're making the mistake of confusing vouches with currency.

Vouches should almost never be measured in quantity. It's about the quality, it's not a group of smiley faced stickers you get for spelling all of your words correctly.

Also, I think septicon has it. Unless the OMM is willing to take the risk and launder the money through his paypal account, there is nothing stopping the person from charging it back regardless of whether you used an OMM or not.

 

OMM's for trades above $50 should be mandatory if someone offers to pay fees.

Good idea. I'm finally beginning to report people who ditch when I get an OMM into the conversation. Get an OMM into the trade, and a pm from them on forums, and boom you're set.

 

This just because if we think someone is a scammer we can't ban them without proof.

What if I joined selling my blue phat, I'm unsure of how all trading works therefore I would not like to use an OMM as I'm new as have no trust for anyone for all I know the whole site could be a scamming site and all the OMM's help scam.

If they do intend to make this the case I think the Trader should atleast get to back out untill the OMM pm's.

I'm not trusted yet, but if I were, I'd hate to have to always use an OMM when someone wants to use one. The whole point of getting trusted and building up vouches is so that when you trade with someone, the buyer will feel safer and transactions will go smoother and quicker. When you force someone to use an OMM, there will be long wait times and uneccasary headaches. This is a good suggestion for the average user that isn't trusted.

We have the TWC rank, it should be put to use. If a person refuses to use an OMM despite not being trusted and have some suspicious qualities, just give them the TWC rank. If you bring in an OMM and they leave or act suspiciously, give them the TWC.

I believe in freedom of choice. If I wish to use an OMM, then so be it, but if I don't want one, then I should be able to sit there and trade however I please.

There should be a limit to this -

It's quite understandable that if the first party agrees to pay for an OMM, and the second party declines the trade, should be issued a TWC but what about the highly trusted non-staff members of Sythe? Will they get a TWC too, if they say no to OMM?

It will be quite shit, to be honest - Even if the highly trusted non-staff got a TWC for this too. All the vouches going to OMMs? No Support (only if that's the case).

A highly non-staff trusted member = Active Sythe member (2009 or before) + at least $20,000 in trades.

 

I 100% agree to be honest, i would of suggested this a long time ago but meh. People should find a OMM they trust and stick with it.

My 2 cents it should be biased when it comes to the trusted and case by case when it comes to non trusted.

Fair, but do you think with all the OMMs here, have enough time for the 24/7 trades going on?? Also, A mandatory account recovery test should be done. with set recoveries, but not entering them.

 

I fully support this suggestion and would love to see it in place.

 

I completely agree. Would help reduce scams alot, and give you a sense of comfort when trading. Support.

 

I totally disagree with this suggestion. Noone really feels like waiting on a OMM all the time.

For example: Most of the time I don't feel like using a OMM because I feel that I'm pretty trusted and reputable.

Edit: Also using a OMM on under $10 trades is just absurd.

 

Kind of agree with what a few people said, people could use OMM's just to look legit and then just easily charge-back.

Not saying they don't do that atm though
