What about using better bots like the ones from RiD? They are supposidly better?

This is the kind of criticism im looking for. I need these problems from you guys with the experience with botting to see if it can be done, and if it can i know the problems before + how to sort them.

Well I say your main worry would be about updates and the bot clients having to be updated.

if you do deals with verified paypal accounts with very good rep you prob wont get chargeback on paypal tho

i sell on paypal to one trusted buyer who ahs never tried to get his money back


also, a way to avoid chargebacks thru paypal is to get them to send the money as a gift

paypal may catch on tho. they get mad because they do not currently charge for gift transfers

There is nothing stopping you, other than good scripts/paid scripts.

You need to get good enough scripts to let them run for hours on end.
The free scripts are the ones that usually screw up.

 

Yep i took that into consideration when number crunching.
I wouldnt take anything less than paid scripts as i know how temperamental free ones they can be.
I understand numerous auth codes would need to be bought, that is where most of the initial setup expense will be.

 

If you invest a lot of money and then all of a sudden there is a mass ban at say sorc garden, then you are out a lot of money. It's also a pain in the ass to control an army.. having to relog after the update, running each account to GE to sell herbs, dealing with the minimal random events and actually finding buyers that won't dispute on paypal. There's a risk.

Also keep in mind a lot of vps providers have problems. Last month I bought 5 warp3 packages and 1 warp2 package from photonvps only to find out that one of the warp3 packages was working to my expectations (3+ bots at high success rate.) All of the other 4 warp3 packages were running a max of 1 bot with a high success rate. If I added a second everything would go to hell. They also make mistakes. They actually admitted to sending me a wrong password for one of my vps' when I sent in a ticket asking why it wasn't working. Remember that vps providers are in it to make a profit so they tend to oversell sometimes. Recently I just cancelled all of my vps with photonvps, meaning I lost well over $200.

Creating the actual accounts to create an army also takes a long time, obviously.

Might be quite tedious to get a high mining/wc/fishing/thieving level on 100 different accounts, so I'd recommend buying accounts with those sort of stats, or get someone to help you

 

I see you asked about rebooting. Everyone needs to reboot their vps at some point because it becomes slow after awhile. Rebooting it means you will have to reopen a bot client for each bot you are running and starting them again.

Also, did you plan on buying a larger vps? The larger the vps the more unstable it usually is, so if you are doing this you should be getting more of a smaller vps. However that also means more auths you need to purchase, and more potential reboots.

 

Yep, mass ban is the biggest threat, however as the numerous bots at 24/7 i will have others in the making not 24/7, maybe doing 10 -12 hours a day as back up.
When a ban happens (hopefully it doesnt hit all my bots) i will have other chars to replace.

It is a risky game to play here, and can take a lot of proper time management/time put in, however, if done correctly the money gained would be substantial enough to live on and have plenty left for luxuries.

Problems so far:
Scamming via pp
updates to RS + bot clients
banning
time to control so many bots
price of vps/auths
bot sticking/randoms
finding stable vps
rebooting vps after time

It was the plan, however my vps' proved to be worthless pieces of crap. In the end I was out 200 dollars or so. Im sure it would have worked out if my vps were decent but remember that buying a vps is always a gamble. You never know which node you will end up on and if that node has been oversold, because almost all vps provider do oversell their resources to make more money.

So to answer your question, I didn't make any profit. I just gave up because if I kept my vps and botted on them I still wouldn't have made a profit by the end of the month.

 

Ok, and back when i played, mining was the most viable skill for gaining rsgp.

I have read on Sythe that some users believe there is a high right now in sourcegarden but it will decrease as the market gets saturated.

If i were to start this venture, wht would be the best scripts to purchase in order to make a stable decent profit.
I mean do people still buy coal for 200gp a piece. when i played this was pretty decent.
