ppl love runescape because of its roots, not because of what it has become(i believe)

imo, classic rs with modern graphics would be more fun than current rs and this transformers combined.




heres an idea, how about they just rerelease runescape starting from its humble beginnings. i know botters would get to it first but it would still be lovely.

I'm not sure it could go either way. It'll more than likely flop but there is a huge market for transformer lovers, I'm just not sure how they're going to do it. I mean transformers is renown for it's special effects. Runescape on the other hand isn't...

This game is going to open up MMO's to a whole different era. Transformers was one of the most popular toys back in the 80's and is still around today, JaGeX and hasbro joining together has nothing to do with Runescape at all. Your argument "they love it for its roots", how does that apply here? They aren't getting rid of RS, they aren't revamping it, they are making a whole new game. At the very least you could have attempted to read the article.

hasbro prob looked at the current rs and its popularity before making their decision
their current popularity is based on a game design that has since been ruined, imo.

and simply because rs has access to another era does not mean anything.
jagex has plenty of other games that have failed completely. what is going to stop this one from failing?



imo, hasbro is not taking the transformers franchise seriously by giving the work to jagex. teaming up with a java based game maker can only mean that they are not planning on competing with other games like dc universe online wow, diablo

I have said nothing about RS having access to a whole new era, I was talking about JaGeX opening up MMO's to a whole new era. I was playing with transformers and TMNT dolls LONG before RS was even around.

I am not saying whether this will flop or not, I just like the idea, and hope they do good things with it.
