I really need someone.

Hey guys, Ill start out by saying thanks for your time in reading and hopefully helping me. You see throughout my life i have been a "spoiled kid" a jock. My parents don't have much to do with me. I live with my grandpa and it is stressful growing up without a mom and a dad.. I am not trying to get people sympathy.. but now it's time to hit the real world. I'm 18 now and i graduate in 30 days! Yes this is eating at me bad. I don't know what to do. I'm a physical person, kicker for the football team and middle linebacker. I REALLY need some help from someone. Okay now if i start rambling bare with me please. I really do not know what I want to do after high school and it is something that I need to figure out. I know that you guys [not knowing me] will not know what is best for me but ill tell you my options right now. I currently Live in Ohio. Where there is nothing and while the unemployment rate is rising, I think to myself.. IF i get a minimum wage job and live around here what will my children have? I have been thinking a lot about the military [Air Force] But one thing that eats at me is my girlfriend is only a junior and I WOULD HATE to leave her here alone.. I would really miss here, we have been together 7 months now and she is my everything. I also considered college but then again through-out high school i have done nothing but goof off and "just pass" and it is really getting me now. I know that I am a smarter student then many people think, I just didn't apply myself when I needed to. I was your average jock, who plays jokes on people, and goofs off.. You know when you think your up so high nothing can touch you? Yeah I know that feeling and I wish I would have never went this rout. You know I really think that I messed up and should have done better but hey, I have to do something with my life. Also I have college offers for UK and KCU to play football for them, but I don't think that I am ready for college quite yet.. The coaches have met with me and said they would work with me. But I have to find something to study while in college. I was thinking Physical Therapy but I have heard that there is alot of math in it, and that is my worst subject. To be honest the only reason I liked going to school was to play sports. Sports are my life, and without them I don't think that I would the erg to go to college. You see the schools I have had offers from do not offer sports medicine which I have also been looking in to... This is just so stressful and I needed to get it out and possibly get some help from some members on sythe..

hmm u seem to like being active, im not sure what the degree is but maybe u should take a college route that lands u a job as a p.e. teacher, or maybe a personal trainer

 

Yo dude, You posted on my thread about this same situation and to be honest after ready this you sound nearly 100% in the same situation.

I think you may have read i too am thinking about going into the military, and have been researching it the past few days and i think i may join or at the very least go to the army advisor's and see what they can offer me for a career or whatever.

I think what happened to me was i did just enough in my subjects to pass them but did nothing else, aslong as i passed i was satisfied, if i could turn back time i seriously would, i understand now why my mum would always say to me how important it is to get good grade's because i wasted alot of time messing about taking it as a joke and worst of all, wasting all my time of video games.

I wish you good luck with what ever you choose but make sure you stick at it, i on the other hand have quit to course's because i disliked them and no im left with no job or current education and have no major intrest in anything.

TBH, you need to find something that makes you happy, and from the looks of it something in the field of anatomy seems to be something you'd be interested in. How the body works and functions etc... Look into courses like that at your favorite colleges, and decide from there!

Air-Force ROTC.. best way to go bro. They pay for your education, you get free healthcare(practically), and your best bet is you won't go into war. And your already fit so you can do basic training just fine. Theres more info on www.airforce.com

I know you said your not ready for college, but a degree is always helpful when thinking about a future.

Well, first off I wanna wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

I'd suggest going to college mate, it's good for you. Even if you aren't amazing or if you don't do that well, get that paper degree. There are so many people out there who have so much talent in what they do, or can do something much better than a college graduate, but they get bad jobs and get treated like shit because some other kid has a paper that makes him 'qualified'.

If you think you can't do it, you'd be amazed at how motivating certain things in life can be. In your case, I'd say that thinking about a life for you and your girlfriend or a life for you and kids that you want to have is a good motivation for you to push yourself and to do well in school.

IF college doesn't work out, try taking a physical job that doesn't require that much school work such as a police officer or an agent of some sort. Try getting into the FBI/SWAT, or do some detective work.
