How to Raise Your Chances Into Becoming a Community Assistant.

    Introduction:

Hey guys, this guide will tell you how to raise your chances into becoming a Community Assistant. The reason I made this guide is because when my first CA application got denied, I was striving to increase my chances for the next time. Hopefully, when you read this guide, it will give you some useful tips to increase your chances of becoming a Community Assistant. Also, I hope this guide will influence future users into trying out for CA.

    What is Community Support:

Well, before we start the guide, let's ask ourselves, what is Community Support? This statement by Finn should clear that up for you:

Who are the current Community Assistant's and Head Community Assistants? How can I tell them apart from regular members? What else do they get:

The list of the current CA's and the HCA's can be found here or here.

The way you can determine CA's and HCA's is by their rank. All CA and HCA's have them.

    CA Rank: [IMG]

    HCA Rank: [IMG]

Another thing they get is access to a private forum. That is where the CA's and HCA's discuss a plethora of things, including application voting.

    How can I get started:

The first thing to do is to visit the Community Support Team Applications.

    You will reach this page:

Click and read the following stickies:

    The Community Support Application Process

Now make up your mind whether or not you want to become a Community Assistant and if you can handle the duties and responsibilities.

Make sure you have read the rules and requirements thoroughly. Also, make sure you read the the tips as well, they are extremely useful. They are stated below. I did not make these tips.

Also, be sure not to be impatient on your application. Trust me, I learned it the hard way. Remember to make quality posts and to help out users whenever you have the chance.

Alright, now click on the "Accepted Applications" and "Denied Applications" sub-forums.

Now, look through the "Accepted Applications" for an example of what you should do on an application.

Now, look through the "Denied Applications" for an example of what you should improve on in your application.

    Application:

Now we are starting with the application. This example of an application by Macroman should help you with the layout:

Remember to always put this in your application, or it will not be moved to pending:

Write a statement on why you think you should be in the Community Support Team. State why you think you would be a benefit to the team as a whole. Try not to be too cheesy and try not to make it too short. Try to be as specific as you can.

Also, you should write a short statement about yourself. This will help the Community Support Team know you better!

You can include links in your thread which re-directs to helpful posts you have made and feedback you have received from the guides you have made. Also, a list of supporters can be nice.

Also, this is optional. You could use GFX to 'spice' up your thread. Make it more visually appealing, etc.

The guides are a pretty big part of your application. Try to make the best guides you can! You are required to make one guides for your application, I suggest to make one or two more, this will show your enthusiasm into becoming a User Educator and to help others.

Are you stuck on ideas? Try to make guides on something you are really good at that others don't really know. Also, make your guides interesting WITH PICTURES.

Try to have the best grammar and spelling you are capable of on your guides.

This guide is extremely useful and I suggest you read it thoroughly before you make your guides: How to write a proper guide.

I suggest using Hyperlinks, they look more professional. See for yourself:

    Code:
    http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=8251933
    Code:
[URL="http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=8251933"][Short + Easy] How to put a link in your signature.[/URL]
Now, after you are done with your application. Post in the The Community Support Applicant Discussion Thread.

Take the CA's advice, It's extremely helpful. There are also other useful thing in that thread that you should read as well. For example: Cosrob97 posted on how he votes on CA applications.

Now after you are done with fixing up your application, done everything you could to your fullest and you are satisfied, please PM a HCA when you are done with your application.

After you PM the HCA, you will be notified if your application has been accepted or denied in a couple of days.

If denied, don't be down! Try again, some of the best CA's have been denied. FishFishy, our current HCA has been declined four times. What if he had quit? We would not have gotten this amazing HCA.

If accepted, follow these tips (These are not made by me):

Thank you for reading my guide! I hope this guide has helped you. If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me, or any other CA member!

I really appreciate this guide, it has given me some very helpful insight on my application. I would however like to suggest going through and changing the "5" to "2". The new rule and all ;)
Thank you again for this guide.

The pictures are too large for my screen. I can scroll to the right about another half page or so. Content is good though, and we'll see if this worked for you soon enough ;]

Huh? This guide is free. Besides, this does not mean your a shoe-in for User Educator. If you follow all of these tips and suggestions, it raises your chances at best. But, there is no 100% guarantee that you will get it. Sorry.

While I'm sure you mean well, by looking over the links provided in your post and what you had to say, I feel as if you basically reiterated a lot of information that users could have just gotten by reading those threads originally.

I know, I realized that in time as well. Since I have just been promoted User Educator, after I get to know how everything works, I'll come back and update this guide. Thanks for your feedback!

Isn't there already a guide or an example in the sticky? I don't know it just feels like this guide doesn't really cover whats in the sticky. The presentation is really nice though.
