best dps in runescape?

i wanted to make a new pure and was wondering what weapon currently has the highest dps? was thinking cr pure maybe?

 

Sorry, but what is dps?

 

Dps is damage per second, its used a lot in MMOrpgs such as everquest, world of warcraft, etc.

 

The highest DPS in the game is the chaotic rapier. However, that depends on what type of account your fighting.

If your fighting someone with 1 defence, it's probably CR or maybe even rune knifes. If your fighting someone with 80+ defence sometimes the CLS will do better.

 

I did a few test fights CR vs CLS in the Arena against my friend (both of us maxed).

We wore gear to match our weapon's strengths and weaknesses, and we also did no armour matches.

Each time he owned me using CLS vs. my CR, I swapped to my CLS and he swapped to CR and I owned him each time. There were a few close matches, but yeah.

It pissed me off, as he is a CLS fanboy and I am not.

Like I said in my post, lol, is that we did matches where we wore whatever armour was best for our weapon, AND we did no armour matches.

 

CR without a doubt. The difference in Max hit between CR and CLS is ~30(Assuming no armor, no pots, no prayer, etc). CR has a weapon speed of 6 while the CLS has a weapon speed of 6. A single tick is 0.6 seconds. This means the CLS has a comparable DPS to a Whip.

 

CLS is slightly slower then a whip but stronger, it is the same speed as a Rune Longsword.

CR is slightly less accurate then CLS but faster. CR is the speed of a whip.

Basically it is coming down to the defence levels your fighting, anything above 70, use CLS, anything lower then 70 then Rapier will be better of the two.

If your a corrupt pure, corrupt vls if you have 85 dung, definately chaotic rapier, fast and efficient.

 

Also if this is for staking armour off, CR them all the way then CLS for the ko. It has worked quite well for a friend of mine

 

if you're thinking of doing something like this, then do rapier -> maul.

 

Maul is 2h. People don't stake with shield slot on bro ;-)
