    Hello Graphics section.

After talking to JohnK and showing him some on my numerous Underwater pictures I've decided to post a few here. Not all will be underater ^_^

I'm new to this section , and will post more if the people (You guys) want more. I will not bother posting more unless people post you want more

A background of what I do:

Well basically I'm a Free diver - Which is someone that dives to depths only some of you could dream on without any breathing apparatus. We control our breathing on the surface lowering our heart rate to 30-50 BPM depending on the diver , then in hail oxygen and dive.

My personal best depth is 42m or ( 140FT)
World record is over 180m or ( 600FT)

We can be under water for various lengths of time up to 5 minutes+.
There are many risk's involved in this such Blacking out due to lack of oxygen or Samba (You have full mind control but no control of your body , you go into a seizure shaking)

I have only Samba'd twice , obviously not fatal
And I have recovered 3 Blacked out divers.
This sport is dangerous , but not as dangerous as it sounds. Hardly any deaths are caused from Free Diving

Always dive with someone else who can watch you.

    * Graphic Peoples, feel free to Edit these pictures to make signatures for me
These picture are not to be used for any other purpose that does not directly involve me and/or is approved by me. Thanks.

    Information:

Some are underwater obviously , and some aren't.
I consider my self lucky to have the opportunity to do this type of things.
I am able to go to great locations all around NZ due to my Family owning a 55ft Game fishing launch.

NEW: I've put together a Video , Enjoy.
    Subscirbe to see more....

I will post pictures a brief description:

Eagle Ray , Quite a placid animal. Very majestic in the way they move
    .

I saw the topic title and I only read "Trearch's Underwater....". I thought this was somethiing about the Company Trearch being in financial difficulty or something.

    Luring title much ?

Some are lovely, but for the majority, they seem pretty average looking because of the perspective and all. Have a crack at cropping your photos in interesting ratios and sizes, to try find a more dynamic and appealing composition.

Some are truly marvellous though, well done :)

The photos aren't LQ at all , It's just the water - the visibility in place is hazy due to silt and stirred up sand.

I'm only new to Photography so I'm just experimenting with things.

Sorry about that mate. It's my mom's computer that makes the non-underwater shots look LQ. Just realised she has a shitty gfx card lol.

Very nice pics mate, surprised you were able to get so close to the fish w/o scaring them away =,=

Can I ask you a question about free diving, how do you deal with the pressure as you go deeper, and how do you deal with the 'atmosphere' levels?

Sure, well pressure gets immense. You lungs at 20m go to around 75% of their size , 30m 50% and 40m its around 35%

Depths over 100m you lungs will decrease to 25% original size.

These will effect your average joe obviously. But it's something we train for , the training we do is intense , and will provoke blackouts and push our body's to the up most limit.
These depths do not happen overnight. With training 3 times a week for 4 years I've gone from struggling 3m to hitting 40+m.

There are also training you can do at home called Co2 tables. Doing these tables increase you bodies tolerance carbon dioxide levels. This is VERY painful , your body has contractions , yes just like a pregnant women.

Free diving is 75% Mind 10% preparation and 15% Physical.

One of world's best freedivers (Hold numerous world records) Dave Mullins - From New Zealand - Go NZ! is said to have been medically diagnosed dead when free diving , but really he has just put him self in to a coma-tic state and lowered his herat rate to awround 20 BPM. Medical dead is obviously different to being Actually dead.

And with food , brings fish. I spent 2 hours roughly getting those fish used to me in able to get the shots.

The sea is a wonderful place.
There just something about it to me. It's like no drug I've ever tried.
I done a lot of drugs before and yes they are fun , put you in a different dimension. But when you gear up in that wetsuit , cruise out to a secluded location , jump in with wild animals and just enjoy the prestene environment , well honestly..

    The feeling is beyond words...
