    Scammer's profile link: Dragon

lavas_rs is an admin in runecino and he is the one who vouched for someone who ended up scamming me.

    Amount scammed: £576.37

Discord ID + Unique Discord ID: northdrags + 306998912659488768

    Proof that it's their Discord:

lavas_rs (757475160264802445) is an admin in the gambling server they run (discord.gg/runecino)

    Explanation of the trade:

    Attached in screenshot #1.

    How they scammed:

One of the runecino admins vouched for a player who ended up scamming me, and they refused to pay me the money. Details below.

I have been a staff member in runecino (an old school runescape gambling discord) for a while. A player in the discord approached me and asked if I could sell runecino discord balance for UK bank transfer for a significant amount. As I know these sort of transactions can easily be disputed, I was hesitant on progressing (screenshot #2). However the scammer (goes by the name 17) mentioned that an admin in runecino (also one of the owners of the discord) “Lavas_rs”, can vouch for him (screenshot #2). So I personally asked Lavas if he can, and he said yes, 17 is cool (29/06/2024 Screenshot #3). I engaged in multiple transactions with 17 and they went smoothly. Around 2 weeks later (14/07/2024), 17 asked me to upfront him money (Screenshot #1). I said sure as he was vouched from an admin of the server I was a staff member in. I even checked with Lavas shortly after, and he highlighted that 17 would never scam and I’m good for having upfronted him money (Screenshot #4). At this point it was about 65% of the money I upfronted him. As a trusted runecino admin gave me this comfort, I ended up upfronting him more money afterwards. He never ended up paying (Screenshots #5) and Lavas highlighted that his ‘vouch’ doesn’t mean he will cover if the individual scammed. (Screenshot #6). I have also now been removed as staff member as I was transparent about my report before submitting this but this is understandable.

@Friendlypker1996 the evidence provided here would not be enough to hold @Dragon liable for this debt, as neither Dragon nor the admin (lava_rs) explicitly agreed to cover the debt in the event the user did not pay.

However, if you are able to provide a GIF of collecting the discord username and UID for "17", we can cross reference this to see if it is linked to any account here on Sythe.

If you need assistance with this you can utilize the following link:

Ask anyone that is actively involved in the market of rsgp or just rs business in general. Saying you "vouch" for someone does explicitly mean you cover the debt in instance of scamming, what else would it even mean or why else would I even ask for it?

I would have never trusted this guy if it wasn't for Lavas vouching for him. Lavas knows him, I don't. He was a mutual customer and lavas explicitly said he vouched for him. That removes any hesitation I have on trusting this guy knowing lavas should (would) cover the scam if it occured.

@Zulu I do not know you and this isn't meant as an insult but can a moderator that is active in the market please check this report out? It's ridiculous that everyone knows exactly what "vouching for" means but you deem it not to be enough to cover debt.

@Friendlypker1996 vouching here on Sythe, and by definition, has a different meaning than what you're insinuating. Unless you have it in writing that @Dragon or lavas_rs agreed to cover the debt in the instance that a scam occurred, they will not be held liable.

If you do not agree with this then you are free to message a higher ranking staff member, but this decision will stand as of now.

If you would like to provide the information requested above, I can still check to see if the discord user is linked to a Sythe account.

    Zulu is correct.
Vouching for someone doesn’t make you responsible for their actions.

Okay noted, well I’ll take the $750 L… good to know anyone can vouch anyone so someone trusted can abuse and vouch a bunch of scammers, and not be held responsible for it? Makes sense

Vouching is simply stating one's own personal experience of trading with a user. Just because he has had successful trades with another user doesn't mean they won't scam someone else. You are ultimately responsible for deeming who you view as trusted and who you trade with.

I'd suggest to give this thread a read to help you with future trades:

I'm going to close this report as you have chosen not to provide the information requested above.
