It's often that people underestimate their security from the internet. In this guide I will tell you a few tips on minimizing your chances of your computer being attacked.
    1. Antivirus
    2. Firewalls

    Virus & Anti-virus:
    1. Virus: A virus is a tiny piece of software that is attached to a program. When said program is run, you give the virus a chance to multiply by giving it access to more programs it can attach itself to.

    2. Anti-Virus: When you run an Anti-virus it scans all the files on your computer and checks them for viruses. It does this by looking comparing your files to a virus database. When it finds a known virus on your computer it will allow you to delete it. This is why you need to make sure you regularly update your anti-viral, new viruses are made everyday.

Just a few ways viruses can be attained.
      • They can be downloaded.
      • They can be email attachments
      • They can be transferred via USB Drives ! Do not stick your USB in foreign , at risk computers.
      • Viruses can be transferred almost any way information is transferred or copied etc.

    Good Antivirus
    Avira

    AVG
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    Blink
I don't use Blink. I don't know much about Blink. If you download this for free , it will stop updating after 30 days. I put it up here because 2+ people requested it and it had amazing reviews.

    Firewall Protection
    1. How Firewalls Work: They are a simple piece of software. As well all know by now there is some pretty bad shit on the internet. The Firewall does it's best to identify and keep out all the "bad shit" and only let through the good shit. Firewalls can be EXTREMELY annoying. I know believe me, but you need to keep yours on the medium setting at the least.

    1. A Few Tips:

      • The main one being don't download stupid shit. If it looks sketchy, it's probably a virus. Always look for a guarantee in the address bar. Sometimes it looks like a padlock, or a little key. All legit sites have them, some don't but it's better to be safe then sorry.
      • Don't be scared to run a virus scan on a file after you download it, before you open it.
      • If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
      • I will be adding more to this guide. Give me feedback please!

You should also go into the dangers of putting your USB into other computers and how to turn off ******** for USB on your main computer.

You should add some more Anti-viruses such as Blink.

    Stop stealing my avatar..

There is no av better than blink, if ya looked at it, at least properly, the av your listing can not only be shut off and killed remotly, but their credibility is just a dribble of piss.

The EEYE team are the most renowned security specialists worldwide. The've had a hand in fixing nearly everything, windows 2000.. windows xp... windows vista.. mac osx.. norton av.. oh yes! the Company you just ditched also saved avg's ass.

Interestingly enough, out of the shit few nobel prizes ever to be given toward computer technology their staff have recieved 2. They have more awards and certificates of achievments then crabs on lindsey lohan.

If you did your research, at least partially, you'd know blink is the ONLY av that will even bother to stop/alert you if the dragonware suite is being used against you.

Just goes to show.. you really don't have a modicum of knowledge. Not because your stupid, but because you make belief your research and spit shit in your own tutorials.

I'm calling you out on this one opie.

Chill the fuck out. Constructive criticisms would be preferable , rather then flaming. My tutorials are not shit. If you wanted to change my mind, you could post good things about blink instead of telling me I don't have a modicum of knowledge and calling me Opie.

I don't know what you have to prove, but you're not going to do it here. Be nice. It's my thread and I don't have to put Blink on here if I don't want to.

If you'll notice, I put only free antivirus programs. Blink is not free. I don't really like Blink. I never said it wasn't a good program. So stop being so offensive. Barney.

Blink is free. an occasionally they do a full 1 year evaluation. And since they don't DRM you can uninstall/reinstall and recieve more updates. Furthermore, they have the most comprehensive system/firewall rules combined with their retina scanner there isn't anything in comparison to security they offer.

Can you link me to it ? If that's true I'll add it. The only blink I can find has a free trial, but they eventually will charge you.

Again it was just a free trial. It will eventually charge you. I'll add it anyway with a disclaimer.
