Did anybody else get this email?

^ I was going to write the same thing, what the hell. lol. Put some fake info there to waste their time.

One key way to see its fake to me is that they say "major macroing offense"

Normally im assuming they wouldn't specify how big of an offense you committed, only state the offense.

 

i use a different email to the 1 registered to my runescape account but i proberly have one on the RS email

 

Basically everyone gets these now so its nothing new and you would be stupid to fall for these

Lol guys including this email I also got one from Chase.com which is one of my banks. Told me to click the link to check my alerts but he misspelled alert with alret xD

haha, I've received multiple emails just like that, one said that my account was banned which sounded a bit legit except Jagex doesn't email you. The other one said my account was "suspended" which I literally LOL'ed at, I mean c'mon if you are going to attempt fraudulent emails, at least get the lingo correct, do a little research.

Maybe I'm just a bit nit-picky but I find myself more angry at the poor tactics and lack of preparation i find in scammers and not actually that mad at the attempt at me personally.

That being said I've accumulated over 20 all sitting in my Junk e-mail =,=

 

I get a lot as-well, its all rubbish just double check every time you get any type of e-mail from runescape.

 

How do they get peoples emails that play rs??

 

Maybe from forums like this? In the market section everyone posts their MSNs and such.

i run virus scans every 2 days and comes up clean

using premium avira antirvirus
malwarebytes.

 

you're fine. i get them all the time, they have to be opened for the java applet to infect.

most jagex mails I get are phishing mails

 

I've gotten this many times. I only click links about Runescape if I just asked Jagex to send me one for account recovery etc.
