Suf I think what he is that atleast he has something to look forward to something after death as opposed to not believing you just die and it's done

Why do you believe in God?

Why fear death when you will never actually experience it?

Why do you believe in God?

Why do you need something after death? If there is nothing, there is nothing. If there is heaven, there is heaven. If there is hell, there is hell. If you believe in a happy heaven, then just kill yourself and go there. If you need to look forward to something in order to be happy, there are negative feelings towards an obstacle in your way to that something. In this case that obstacle is death and those negative feelings are most likely fear.

Why do you believe in God?

Wrong. I'm living to tell others about God. Why would I kill myself when I can get more people to go to heaven?

Why do you believe in God?

You don't need something, you want something. There's nothing wrong with hoping for something, even if there's a second guess in you that thinks there is nothing. Why take away people's hopes when they are happy in their faith?

Why do you believe in God?

Heaven doesn't exist. You can believe that it does; but until you can provide proof for it's existence, shut up about it on SFA. I believe we require 'logical' debating here; not those simply out of mindless faith.
You have the burden of proof by claiming the existence of something that cannot rationally exist. Therefore, validate your argument; otherwise, it's really nothing but make-belief bullshit.

Why do you believe in God?

I don't believe in anything. I won't use the same old "CUZ WHER DID GOD CUM FRUM?" because I don't think like that; I actually think in the way of "Why would such a powerful person, with such knowledge, kindness and responsibilty take my loved-ones away, when he has so much energy". The same old stories of how God did this, God did that, but I just think it's unfair what happens.

Why do you believe in God?

Why would you stay here in this shitty life it you could go live perfectly forever?

You want something to make the fear of death less. Don't fear death and you will be fine.

Why do you believe in God?

Me, I don't fear death itself. I fear the concept of me dying in pain, or slowly degenerating. Also, I fear the idea of me not being here, and what happens to everybody else once I'm gone. I guess, for some, believing in something good after death makes death seem much less scary, but really, it's just a cover for their fear. If anybody thinks that believing in a Diety makes the concept of death any less scary, then that is wrong, in my opinion, because I think that if there was DEFINETLY a "Heaven" like all those people say, why don't they just kill themselves now, and get eternal epicness up there. Apparantly, you can eat chicken and speak to your great grandparents.

Why do you believe in God?

Le me start this off by saying that I have the same opinion of god as you do.
However, by logic, it is equally illogical for a god to not exist as it is for god to exist. This about it; there is no way to disprove god or prove god. Human logic craves purpose, but under current human thought, true purpose cannot exist in any god or non-god scenario.

Why do you believe in God?

So that I can get more people to heaven. I'd rather sacrifice a bit of time without heaven and do the work that I was sent here to do; get others to heaven.

Why do you believe in God?

In no means do I FEAR death but if a friend happens to pass away I like to think that they've gone to a better place that one day I may be able to talk and see them again. Opposed to them dissapearing forever. I know I'm more on the topic of heaven then god but I feel my reasoning is good and is a reason many believe in him/

Why do you believe in God?

I'm an atheist (specifically unitarian universalist) but if there is any compelling evidence for the existence of a God I'd say these are somewhat reasonable.
    1. The consciousness. Being aware of the self, our environment, and able to make rational choices. Although evolution would obviously prefer this as opposed to robotic life-forms, the consciousness is still mysterious to us, and the notion that chemical reactions could result in subjective experience and awareness seems almost science fiction.
    2. The sun and the moon are precisely the same size as viewed from earth. This isn't totally significant in itself, but because of how rare this would seem to be, earth is probably one of the few places in our galaxy where this coincidence takes place.
    3. The "fine-tunedness" of the 4 universal forces do admittedly seem a little too finely tuned to be a coincidence.

(But then of course if one believes in the 10 dimensions of reality all of these coincidences vanish as our universe is only 1 in an infinite set.)

Why do you believe in God?

I havn't really had much time lately to research, but this is a deep subject regarding the birth of the Universe and the different theories behind how it came to be.

-What caused the big bang if something cannot come out of nothing.
-If nothing is infinite (in reality), then did the Universe have a beginning and will it have an end. (The God theory would be that God is outside the realm of Reality) - some people believe "time in not a thing in reality", not sure if this is proven though.

I was also watching this space documentary, alot of stuff happened in an extremely small amount of time that if even one part of it messed up we wouldn't have existed today.

Before I end, not all people who believe in God are stupid, many of them are some of the most intelligent of our time. They must have their side of the argument/theory just as well as the Atheist would. Everyone chooses to believe in what they want without deterring from their own intelligence.

Why do you believe in God?

Every topic I've seen like this seems to be full of atheists who tag the believers with the burden of proof. I don't understand why those of us who are agnostic or religious need to prove our belief when there is no proof there isn't a God or greater being either.

I'm not sure I believe in a God in the sense that most would. I think of it as more of an intelligent, self aware, powerful energy.
