Runescape Lottery?

I just saw the scam post with the 3M Runescape lottery. This reminded me of another web-based game where I held an in-game lottery.

If i started a simple lottery with 100k buy-in for 10 tickets. I would take a cut from the total jackpot for my time and effort. Would people be interested in this?

From what I gather people are more interested in a larger prize. I'm thinking 10 tickets with 1M buy-in with 3 Prizes

First Place: 5M
Second Place; 3M
Third Place: 1.5M
500k would be taken out of the jackpot for my time and effort.


How I would proceed with this.
I would have a set draw date: if the tickets I was selling was not sold by the time. I will completely refund the buyers.
Tickets are numbered from 1-10. Buyers can purchase Maximum 4 Tickets, and they are able to choose which numbers they want.
The RSGP would be transferred to my MAIN RS account for keeping until the draw date. The winner will be randomized using an online number generator.

Close, too much hassle.

 

No one will take the time for a 100k buy in to win 1m.

I mean 1m is worth like $.9 now-a-days. Why would someone waste their time for something that they probably have in their piggy bank?

They used to do this and it was staff run, but something happened (I read about this event I wasn't a member at the time).

The problem with having a private person such as yourself running it is... what is to stop you from taking 1m from 20 people and then never doing the loto? Easy as the "auctioning X item" scam that happens in runescape.

 

There really isn't a need for me to scam....I'm not desperate for petty cash; as well I'm not into risking getting banned on Sythe. Yes I know you can use a proxy or whatever to make a new account but I rather keep this one.

 

That is the problem... That's why i wanted to start with smaller payouts. But the interest is not enough -.-

 

Personally you doing it compared to a mod on here will never work. It would have to be run by a mod or a trusted member of the community and personally you don't have either of that so the chances of you running this are slim to none. hate to burst your bubble.

The only way it would be aloud/worked if a mod did it.
