Is the whip overrated?

TBH, it is pretty underrated ATM because or the rapier.

It is still a highly effective weapon for many things. It's fairly cheap too at around 2m. I mean I think it is top 5 for DPS melee in the game.

Exactly.

Whips are amazing paired up with a good spec weapon.
Fairly cheap to use when PKing.

Whip is one of my fav weapons.

 

I'd prefer a SS or AGS , but they are more expensive and you can't weild a shield.

Whip is only good for attack IMO.

 

So true, nowadays there's all shit weapons in this game, you get hit with 700's while back in the days a 360(36) was epic.

It's overrated compared to the rapier. I lose stakes with maxed melée to rapier nubs. Maybe the rapier is just overpowered though. Not sure.

 

It's very fast weapon for the cost and the fact that it doesn't degrade. The dung weapons take a shitload of time to get and the whip just makes things easy.

Terrible spec now though, it shouldn't have been nerfed.

It's still pretty good, not to mention insanely cheap now. Was like 1.5m last time I checked.

 

i think the abyssal whip is 2nd best multipurpose weapon in runescape after chaotic rapier

 

but the spec is gone, therefore you cant say "well it used to own with the spec" because its not like that anymore
