2012 , True? Or Simply talking Sh*t

I'm sure you all know about the telling of the world ending in December 2012.

The correct telling is the worl will end 'AS WE KNOW IT' <-- Key words. So it's not necessarily ending as such.

Well , up until now I've been thinking this is all a publicity stunt , to gain money from movies - which they have , etc etc

In light of recent events during the start of 2011 , Like the 2 major earth quakes in my country - Christchurch , New zealand , followed by the Japan Earth quake , Then the one in tonga...

These events surely made me think...

Is this just a build up?
Are we going to ending? Are you guys believers of the telling?

you answered your question its a hoax just like 666 or the year 2000 there are a ton of ideas that were thrown in place to simply make money of them. In reality the people doing this are actually bringing in revenue in the economy since many ppl are interested in this type of sht.

 

Also all those earthquakes were detected for months they dont just show up one day... Plenty of earthquakes happen yearly more especifically in mexico but the eartquakes are small and usually dont gain any media fame.

 

I don't think it's going to end on December 21st, 2012 but during that year I'm thinking something big WILL happen.

Plus I find this theory pretty fascinating

First I was like, nah, not going to happen.


But, if you think what power mother nature has, you just can't predict where it will stop. Hurricanes, earthquakes, just anything.
I don't think we need to focus on a exact date. We just can't tell how this will go, we need to wait, and keep living the lives we have.
There is no need to be scared, there is no need to worry about it.

What we do need to worry about is how we treat the earth. Resources running out, overpopulation, ..
Scientist are looking for other planets to live in. What would that bring, ruining that planet too?
Human society has become like this.
We don't like something anymore, we messed something up, we move on to something else.

Or think about all the violence in the world.
I can't imagine what would happen when something like WW III would start.
Nuclear weapons, massmurdering.

World is what we make of it.
Let's hope for the best.

there is only one possible planet that we may be able to inhabit and that is mars. we dont have to look for planets(plural)
i like your very simple comparison of humans to parasites that i have heard about 100000x times since i got up this morning. please, think critically. there are several examples of human behavior that contradict this. for one, just look at our current frantic (and ignorant) efforts to counter what we believe is global warming.

About the overpopulation thing. I meant to say that we need to keep live our lifes and do not let our life be lead by fear of the world coming to an end.

 

I think it's complete bs. There's no certain proof that it will happen on that day. What are the odds that a couple of aztecs or mayans have more proof than todays scientists with their technology. Even if it does happen, it probably won't be portrayed as it was in the movie.

 

Yes , Agreed the movie was simply for money purpose's. The movie portrays the world actually ending but that's not the correct statement.

 

I think mankind is advanced enough to roughly predict when something that is gonna end the world is going to happen. But will they tell it to us or will they try to keep us from panicking?

I m 100% sure that world is not going to end in near future. Decaffeinate not on 2012. I think its getting ridiculous to advertise when is the world going to end. It was suppose to end years ago .... last time it was suppose to end was 2010. Didnt happen, now they say 2012, why not 2013 ? Nah thats ugly number ! All the years when world was suppose to end were pretty numbers, usually ended with 0. Why is that ? That should prove that people are just fucking with your mind.

 

They are only saying 2012 because the maya's predicted it, They have also been right about quite a few things, I myself find things/Topics like this fascinating, Wether it's going to happen or not.

Why should we base are thoughts on people who lived thousands of years ago? Regardless if they have been right about some stuff. I mean dont get me wrong i think something is going to happen in 2012 but i doubt it will wipe us out.

Yeah, people have been foretelling the end of the world for centuries, and the world has provided the natural disasters to give them a measure of creedence.

 

Were detected for months? We don't have the tech to detect earthquakes before they happen. Earthquakes happen all the time, we have thousands of them a day. The difference? The size of them. Why would a small earthquake gain any media, it is common..

The 8.9 Earthquake that just hit Japan moved the Island by 8 feet and moved the Earth's Axis by 4 inches.


OT:
IMO, world isn't just going to "end" on a certain date. I'm a Christian and I do believe in the Rapture, the returning of Christ, and so forth. If anything, the more common natural disaster's are just answer to prophecy in Revelation.
