Need Help with VPS

Ok so I was reading this guide: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=977316

And I got to the end part about setting up PuTTy and it said hit cntr+x and then enter.

Control X popped up a little screen that said would you like to save your information Y or N. I hit Y and then it pulled up another screen that asked what type of information it was to be downloaded as. I just exited from PuTTy at that time.

I then tried to put my IP into my VNC View and it said "unable to connect to host: Connection refused (10061). I think this is because I did not enter vncserver into PuTTy again before I exited (so it would get the server back online.) How do I get it back online? Whenever I open PuTTy its just a black screen with a little green bar at the top that does nothing when I type stuff in.

EDIT: I opened PuTTy, entered my user and pass and then entered vncserver and its back online. Then I went over to the VNC Viewer, entered everthing and got on. Now its just a gray screen?



Also, how do I change from a Centos 32 Bit to a Centos 64 bit?

super simple fix.
where you put startkde & or whatever...
make sure the s is lowercase.

if it's caps it'll cause the screen to cover your entire screen.

 

right, still have this problem. I do now have a black screen though
