pregnant girlfriend? kkthxbai

so i didnt post this in the personal support section because i cant stand the people that troll there with their comments such as "aww everything will be ok. just follow your heart" /facepalm

so please give me your honest opinion, or just troll. i dont really care, im mature enough to know good advice when i see it, so kkthxbai.

anyways, so this story starts along time ago. I have known this girl for about 12 years, our parents have always been really good friends but for some reason we just never really clicked as friends. we were in some of the same classes, had some of the same friends, played some co-ed sports together, and went to the same church. im not much of a talker and she isnt very talkative either, so we would just say stuff like "hey whats up? teacher ____ is a douche, huh?" and part our ways.

then about 3 years ago, during highschool i started hanging out with different people and we really didnt talk for about 3 years. my friends that i had during highschool all called her a slut for various reasons, called her fake (behind her back of course) and honestly, trashed her every chance they got. i just went along with it because i didnt really know her that well anymore, and you know how peer pressure is.

well i stopped hanging out with that group of friends about 9 months ago. i still didnt talk to her until about 2 months ago, she came to our house with her family for some party/ fundraising event, and i was just like "hey whats up?" and she was like " i need to tell you something that i think you should know... im pregnant."

i was so stunned. she was always like the perfect girl, never did anything wrong, was super smart, gorgeous, was very very well off money wise, had a really good relationship with her parents, etc.
she went on to tell me that she dated this guy for about 3 months, and they had sex a few times. then she found out he was bipolar, asked him about it, and he basically assaulted her.
she hasnt talked to him since. she then went on to tell me how her friends were slowly distancing themselves from her ,"the knocked up chick". and kinda started pouring her heart out to me.

well since then we have started talking alot, pretty much all day every day. mostly texting and we hangout a good bit, as much as our busy schedules permit, she is going to a cosmetology school and i work a ton.
the only thing is, since neither of us are very talkative, when we hang out it feels semi awkward because we dont really talk about much, but at the same time, its kind of peaceful and i really appreciate that she isnt a stupid dumb girl that is like "omg so justin bieber blah blah my hair blah blah blah". when she says stuff it matters and isnt irl spam

i am just in a quandry now because i think i like her, but i dont know if i can deal with having a girlfriend that is going to have a baby soon. and i really dont want a serious girlfriend relationship because i might get deployed very soon.
But i feel like i need to do something about this because there is no way that we can stay in the friend zone for very much longer.

it kills me to think that it took a crisis in her life like this for us to become true friends.

any suggestions, applicable stories, etc would be very helpful.

I can offer little advice on your situation other than don't get involved/get her attached unless your in it for the long haul. I'm not sure what type if girl she is, but the fact that she came to talk to you shows that she needs someone to stick by her. Don't get too involved unless your that person. She's already had her share of disappointing relationships considering her friends and the biological father.

 

I'd give advice but...





Don't go out with her unless you want some serious stuff/long distance.

No point in getting involved into this. Like you said you don't really know if you want a serious relationship, so just stay friends. Try to help out as much as you can, be supportive, but don't try to be her boyfriend. As time passes, if you really like her, then who knows.

 

Ok good, because I'm sick of hearing people use that word lightly.

Ot, I really don't think it would work out between you and her. She wont have very much time to spare after her child is born and if things with you and her ever got to the point that you wanted a serious relationship you would end up raising another man's child.. and that never works out well.

But if your willing to take on a huge commitment and you really think this girl is worth it go for it, You only live once and you should live your life to the fullest.(I still stand by the above statement though)
