    Building a botting machine

Hey guys I'm looking to buy parts for a botting desktop.
I want to be able to run about 6-8 bots on it.

Are there any one specifically you would recommend or a list of parts you suggest I buy for my own build.

    Thanks in advance!

btw, is there a difference in processing power and ram needed for each bot depending on what it's doing?

Yes, some scripts require more CPU&RAM then others (This is with reflection bots and the scripts using allot of reflection fields). A sorc. garden bot will take up more CPU&RAM usage then an Fletcher.

I suggest you taking a good CPU; I don't know your budget so I can't really say how much it will cost.

Just go for an i7 and lots of RAM (Make sure your on 64bit!) Also suggest you using ubuntu, it takes less CPU and RAM as Windows and its easy&free.

    Gimme ur budget?

Here's my current PC. It wasn't bought for botting, but it'll run a fuck load of bots:

    Antec 300 Three Hundred Case
    Corsair 430W CX
    Core i5 2500 3.3GHz
    Asus P8H67-M EVO H67 Socket 1155
    G-Skill 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Ripjaws x4 (16gb)
    add a:
    500gb+ hard dirve
graphics card - nvdia 430 or ati 5670 (doesn't matter what you get but it may as well be "reasonable.")

Excluding hard drive plus graphics card the build cost me under £500. (with both about £640)

If you want, buy an i7 processor, or (lol) an amd processor and I advise 8gb+ memory. I bought 16gb as I need that much for my projects (hyper-v network) but you don't necessarily need that much memory (depends how many bots you intend to run.)

Don't PM me as I probably won't respond (i rarely "respond to IT related questions" for free...it's my job etc.)

It would be best if you had a great CPU/RAM. If it's only for botting then save the money and buy a small hard drive etc.

if your making a computer primarily for botting it is by far alot cheaper to just use a VPS. yes you do have to pay per month, but it is alot more cost effective than building a computer.

if your adamant on building a computer then i would suggest the i7 with about 8gb of RAM, a nvdia graphics card and a 500gb-1tb HD

The bot will be either fletching or herblore most likely (i'll assume these are low cpu)

Budget is pretty much whatever (I brought in $600 the last two weeks from selling gold so ideally around there or less)

I do like the idea of a VPS though. How much would I have to learn and where would I go to do so?

A VPS running 6-8 bots is going to cost allot.

http://botvps.com/, a Divine VPS should do it.
€62 per month - no support after 24h (= unmanaged)

    Thing is:
If you buy a vps for 1 year it will cost around 600EUR.
You can buy a decent PC for 600EUR to bot on and run it for 2 years.

Wouldn't recommend going with the divine, I bought one and it sucks. I wouldn't go with botvps at all.

go with photonvps, the Xen warp 4 package for 80 bucks a month and run 8 bots on it. You don't need to keep it forever, it can help you make enough money to build a really good computer.

    Was just an example.

For €750 I made a PC that should be able to run +20bots.
