Guide to How many bots you can run

Seeing as just about everyone is making threads asking how many bots can they run on their PC, I thought I'd make a simple guide and explain how I came to these terms.


Rule of thumb : Each bot such as Woodcutting (Light bot) uses 0.3GB/Ram.

Each bot such as SW/SorcGarden (High people around bot) uses 0.5GB/Ram.

My computer has 2GB ram, so it can run 4 High bots EASILY, but only 3 efficiently. If we are counting efficency, each bot uses roughly 0.7GB/Ram. This is so it doesn't lag etc. It surely can run 7 Low bots EASILY, but only 5 efficiently, as we say 0.4GB/Ram for efficently running.

My laptop has 4GB ram, so 8/6 heavy, or 13/10 light.

So if you have 16GB Ram, you can run roughly 24 HIGH PERFORMANCE bots without lag. 25/26/27 is possible, but risky with slight lag. These are numbers for OPTIMUM performance.

If you have a VPS, same applies.

So if you want to make 300M/day with Sorc Garden, each bot averages about 7.2M/day, so 42 Bots are needed.
So 2 computers, each with 16GB ram.

your not taking into consideration the processor that the computer has. You can have 16gb of ram and a pos processor, and only be able to run 3 bots. Usually its not ram you run out of but cpu usage.

 

Yup, nice guide. People are always asking this.

 

You should have included processor usage as my laptop has 4gb of ram but only a 1.9ghz processor so the maximum amount of bots i can run is 3 lol

 

Will add processor amounts, don't know much about this :S

Nice idea and concept. You get the general idea, but alot of your information is wrong. Keep researching and I highly suggest testing some things out for yourself. I support you finishing this, a great work in progress.

 

if you run out of processor power on the global setting page just slide all to the right side and it will appear your bot is lagging but it really isnt its just lowering the frames peer second its sending back meaning less CPU usage.

 

RAM has very little to do with how many bots you can run. Someone already mentioned it, but 99% of the people run out of processing power, long before they use up their RAM.

For instance, I have a computer that's 3-4 years old, 1 gig of RAM, and 1.8ghz processor. I can run 4 SG bots (most I've tried), with all settings to the left, and experience absolutely no lag.

 

This guide is inaccurate. If you load to many bots you will over load the CPU usage. Once this happens your computer will begin to slow down and either bots will start to freeze up, crash, or run slower.

You're on the right track though, just need some fine tuning. I recommend you do trial and error.

I run like 3-5 bots at at a time

 

i use powerbot.org there free but they just recently got infiltrated and i lost like 200m

Can you explain to me how we can run a light or heavy bot? I just don't understand that only.

 

idc, a light bot is a bot which doesn't usually have a lot of people there.

At a woodcutting spot, there is usually 10 people max. This is light.
At SoulWars/SorcGarden, there is usually 50-400 people max. This is heavy.
