Mage Boxing

I've got a level 115 mage boxer with 98def, 98 hp, 99mage. Now I'm really curious to see if defence even matters in mage boxing because i just lost 4 stakes in a row and got cleaned to a guy with 99hp, 99mage, 72 defense... level 121. Now could someone please explain to me what the deal is or is jagex just fucking stupid?

 

I think you've just been very unlucky...

 

Unlucky doesn't happen 5 stakes in a row. Im thinking defence means nothing in a mage box.

 

Mage is a luck on no armor defence help but not that much ive already testes my pure vs main lvl 92Def and i won some stakes.

 

Well I've seen me hit 10 splashes in a row with 99mage and get hit 10 times in a row and die and ive got 97 defense -.- idk wtf to think ha.

magic resistance is defined by ones magic level.

 

your mage level is your mage def level in mage boxing

 

So try to find people to fight that don't have 99mage??

 

Yes, But it will be hard to find people without 99 that will fight you.

 

Well I've seen a lot of 110+ with like 97 mage or 94 mage, just random ya know? Hopefully that is the problem, i will try and see how it goes.

 

Update: Just staked a guy with 94 mage and lost 2m and then staked a guy with 96 mage and lost 3m. Am now cleaned, probably gonna try to sell the account since i think its all luck.

 

Staking is down to LUCK when all odds are even. It's true. There isn't much skill involved in mage boxing, except for pots/eating/praying.

 

Shew It's really weird, I went from 1m to like 60m, then down to like 10m, then back to 40m, then cleaned lol.... I think Its just me, Some people are good at mbing it seems.

 

Maybe your method your using is bad.

 

I don't know many other methods than just Cast away...? lol

I went from 20-140m in 2 days (99 magic, 87 def, 85 hp) fighting anybody who wasn't maxed.

Then the next day lost a 50m stake and green hallo mask to someone with slightly lower stats :/

 

Mage defense is based 30% on defense level and 70% on mage level. It's naive and ignorant to say things like "bad luck doesn't happen 5 times". Of course it can. I've seen people lose 11 maxed boxing stakes in a row. Shit happens. Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose.

 

No defence doesn't matter in mage boxing imo.
