Hello world! Today we shall be playing with email spoofing! Why email spoofing? because if you're cunning you could lure runescape accounts. Today I'll be showing you ~how~ this could be done.

Well, for this example we shall be using hotmail servers to send our spoofed emails from.

We will be using a few neat utilities, 1 is called telnet, it's extremely useful for establishing direct p2p connections, and in this case, making use of various services. We will be using NSLookup, and I will show you how to use this to find mail exchange services for any server/website. And of course, we need some sort of browser.

(Step One)

Alright, first of all we need an email that belongs to jagex. So.. I registered one of my runescape 'nub accounts. Let us take a peak:

Now we have the email we're going to use. Now the next step is finding a server to send the email from.

First, open up your command prompt, or shell and simply type 'nslookup'.
You should now have a curser that looks like ">" and are now ready to pull some results.

We're going to look for mail exchange servers. so now type: "set q=mx". This will make our queries for mail exchangers. Now type "Hotmail.com" to specify that we're looking for hotmail mx servers.

When you have your list of servers, type "exit" to leave the nslookup program.

(Step Three)

Now we are going to create our email. Now We use telnet! So now go to your shell/command prompt and type:

telnet thehotmailserveryouchose 25

Now you are in telnet. Make sure you specify the smpt prototcol by typing 25 at the end!!

First, say hello to the server, by typing "helo".
Now we are ready. typing "mail from: the emailadress@youarespoofing"
Now you have told the server where the mail is comming from, now we need to tell it who it is going to. This is a hotmail server, so we will use a hotmail account. We do this by typing "rcpt to: targetemail@hotmailadress".
We have now assigned the source, and destination emails, we shall now Create the email information:

Type "data" and depress your enter key. You are now ready to write your email adress. This could be anything for "lulz" or clever attempt to cause the recipient to forward you his email credentials.

When you have finished, hit enter, type a period (.) and hit enter again. This will finish and que your email for delivery.

To leave telnet, type "quit".

And Finally, if you are testing this out on yourself, let's view the results by checking your email. (optional)
