Starred out my MSN?

I have a C R Y P T X . O R G Email address, since my hotmail one recently got hacked, I turned back to using that. I tried telling people that I added them using this email and it got blocked out? Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

 

It was probably censored due to advertising; it's not really that ridiculous to block out links to rival sites.

It wouldn't take that long to simply register a new email with yahoo or gmail anyway.

 

I'd rather just use that email over other emails anyways.
But I guess I'm not allowed? That's ridiculous. It's not like I'm advertising the other site.

 

Were not going to uncensor it, simple as that. Creating a new email is your best bet.

We censor tons of rival sites, makes sense when you think about it

 

It's not that you were doing it, it was that people did it earlier. Just made a different one. You are unlikely to win this battle.

 

It's just how the filter works. To effectively block other users from posting links to that site, emails are affected as well. It's not the intent, but a side effect.

The inconvenience to users who have @crypt emails is really not that bad - although, technically, those emails are a form of advertisement anyway. It's name exposure; someone even offered to pay me to use an @crypt email at one point, for that very purpose. So, either way, they'll probably remain blocked.

 

Pretty much this. We are not going to do a fundamental rewrite of the censorship system to suit people using emails on censored domains, nor are we going to budge on what we've decided to censor.
