Support, it would be good to have something like S1-3 on RSCA. It would be a lot of work though, so I'm not sure if any mods/admins would be willing to do this.

 

This would couse lots of work, but for example, it could give you some kind of rank if you verify your name for example, by providing a copy of your passport (with some details hidden) or drivers license, in this way people could see who are the most trusted people.

This should be done by one or a few of Administrators, but they do not have much time, so that is the problem.

 

That would be kind of nice... I know not everyone has an ID or something to post though (the younger members)

I know that I could easily supply that kind of stuff now, but when I first started using sythe, I really didn't have much more than a school ID.

Its called a 'Verified' User.

Basically you submit you personal details with sufficent proof, I.E going on webcam , to see what you look like and showing license / birth certificate. Then confirming address when a seleceted member of staff sends you a letter (At your cost) with a code. You then reply to the Staff member with that code to confirm address. They will also call you on HOME phone AND cell phone to confirm that.

Then you become a Verified user. I think Sythe should incorporate a similar system to this.

 

I'd like to add a few things to this, so that people know what I mean by S1-3 on RSCA:

To get S1, you have to pay $5. This both verifies that you own the PayPal account and makes it worth the staff's time to verify you.
To get S2, they call you on the phone to verify your phone number.
To get S3, you send a letter to them to verify your address.

IMO, it's a great idea.

I don't know how hard or how much work this would take, but I'd do it if we had to. (Like the quote said, with some hidden details).

I'd actually feel safer to be honest but as I said before, I don't know how hard it would be to set it up and how much of a hassle verifying everybody would be.

Aspects i support, aspects i dont.

1. If you have to verify IRL information, the registration rate to this site would nearly die. Many people aren't willing to do that, whether if they are a scammer or not. Who wants to join a random website and give them personal details? No one. Also, the amount of work it would take to do that, is unbelievable. It wont happen, simple as that.

Meeder, you can. You just can't suggest them for yourself.

I would 100% support a "verified" rank because it would more easily define the line between a legitimate buyer / seller and a scammer.

 

This should be done only with the pictures of the Passport/ID/drivers' licence (both sides), if you are younger, you should wait till you grow up, because it is not super needed to verify your identity and most of the biggest Sythe sellers are 18+ years old.

Incase you appear suspicious - you would be asked to prove it is really you, to provide your picture for example, but this should only done when a member is in really big trouble and there is a big question about his identity.

And this would not be a rank, your username would be bold and next to your user title or instead of it you would have a title Verified.

Normal Member username --> Verified Member username

Sythe reached the limit when such things needs to be done, if there are no qualified people, Sythe should look for them until we could find any, the members - Administrators doing such job should be with perfect history on Sythe and verified their identity as well.

Moreover, only the members with some Sythe history, for example (1 year/500 posts), should be able to verify their identity, so the staff would not have so much work to do and there would not be many system abusers (for example, using someone elses details).

 

It doesn't have to be PayPal, it can be Moneybookers, AlertPay, WU, whatever. As long as the verifier gets paid, it works.

 

Verified users, as long as it is optional would be nice but I highly doubt this would ever happen.

 

Yeah it would have to be optional but I would definately do it. Providing that there is a privacy agreement with Sythe stating that all the information is private and can't be sold/given away to third parties.

 

Paypal option is not good, many stolen accounts, you can fake the details, many people are/gets limited and so on.

A lot of the current staff members have their names and address etc etc verified by admins.

They have my home and work address/phone #. Some people dont like to give it out and others dont mind.

 

Yes, but in this way everyone has a chance to verify himself and everyone can see did he do it or not.

This should be really done, there is much money involved so should be done atleast in the future for sure.

The paypal option does not fit everyone (you need to have a verified account, so you need to have a credit card/bank account - to be 18+ years old, not everyone has it, but every grown up person has a passport/ID card), moreover, it would be very easy to abuse the Paypal option (fake details, stolen account), so this title would be useless, we need a fast and secure method to verify, so the members would know - this member is really legit, the paypal option has very much issues, and my option - not a single one.
